I never gave screamo as a whole a legitimate listen. Imma listen to these and expand my eclectic musical tastes. Thank you for your cervix o7
@beatifk seeing means more than safety is among my favorite releases of all time. A band I sang in covered it’s more like a message to you.
Fucking love JD
damn @beatifk that is so rad you actually saw JD in their heyday. where did you go to uni?
the drummer of JD went on to start that streetwear brand Mischa if I remember correctly
I loved this vid of them playing at the boxing gym up in bakersfield so much

@beatifk dude your stories just make me green with jealous rage. Gonna be pm’ing you to see if you’ve got any old flyers I could buy off you or something. By the sounds of it you caught both the pick your poison and chased by bees tours. Being in New England and the tristate area during that time must have been absolutely incredible.
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
I thought I replied to this but I guess I didn’t. I love get fucked, Prinzy and I were talking about them about a week or so ago.
I think @Macho Taildrop would know better than I, but wasn’t Chris from Neil Perry/welcome the plague year in get fucked?
Also the drummer from a band I was in send me this yesterday and it fucking killed me.

And to keep it on topic, here’s Takaru. A criminally underrated band out of San Francisco featuring members of welcome the plague year and funeral diner. This record fucking bowls and comes highly recommended.

@Freelancevagrant my friends play in a band called soul glo and i've traveled around with them quite a bit. i always forget the ostraca/killgore connection. their new bands (gif. from god and listless) are fucking sick too
@Freelancevagrant ignored me and my limited understanding of this genre :(
(At least we’ll always have SPAZZ)

FUCK I didn’t mean to man I’m sorry. I could have sworn that I did.
They sounded hella familiar but I had to go back and look it up. I think I had downloaded their split with majorca many many years ago. They were super sick, sounded very European. All that being said, I’m way more familiar with Australian grind/powerviolence.
Envy is also great, obviously. But don’t let them over shadow some of the other great Japanese bands, yo!
1000 travels of jawaharlal, sto cosi cosi, and sans visage are all also really sick Japanese bands worth listening to.
And yes, we will always have Spazz <3

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TMPAKVLs1oThat split with Agna Moraine's autobiography is so great.

Sick dude- love the name. Haven't heard you guys before but reminds me a lot of Philly screamo bands from that era like This Day Forward, A Life Once Lost, in a really sick way. Awesome. Is it going on Spotify?
They are definately more to the metal side-- but I think still in the screamo category at least by Philly 2000's standards. Here are some more screamo bands to check out for the younger kids:
-Grade
-Poison the Well
Perhaps the best in the genre, though I could be proven wrong ha.
damn, you were in tristan tzara and now years later we meet on slap?
that's sick. used to listen to you guys occasionally in the early/mid 00's
Yghartsyrt probably doesn't want to self promote too much, but Tristan Tzara discography up on Spotify. I can't stop bumping the I've seen it all Bjork cover.
Welp-- I've heard screamo is now called Skramz.I will never ever utter that word in real life in conversation
