I'm so fucking sick of skaters complaining about Instagram on this show. Sponsored skateboarders are promotional tools for their respective companies, this is your job.
-
Please tell me he frontside flipped Davis the week he was there with Weedmaps and posted the photo at the top. Please.
-
Anyone else he thinks he fs flipped el Toro but is keeping it hush hush because it’s for the new zero video? Just the way he acted when it can’t up in the interview was a bit strange
-
Imagine sacrificing your body for the "new" "zero" video"
Hats of to this soulja for surviving the game
How many other dudes from the New Blood roster putting out new parts? ZERO

I hope jon Allie put some footage out in this new zero video

I know he can but would he really try fs flip el toro after doing it down that other 21 in the Cold War vid?

Thank you
Get with it or get off it
Can’t have your cake and post a picture of it too

Gonna watch this when I get home, but I gotta say Tommy is one of the top 3 people I’ve met in my life so far. He offered me a job filming skateboarding but didn’t have the funds to get out to Cali at the time.

Is his homie Tim okay?

Micheladas are good but chavelas are even better.

Kelly’s utter fascination with anyone holding a job outside of the skate industry is allways classic
-
Micheladas are good with mexican food but i wouldn’t want to drink a bunch of them at once
-
Good interview, he kept it entertaining. Justifying stealing someone’s camera is kinda sad though.
-
Pretty fucked up about the stolen VX and just being like “Well it is what it is”.
Also it’s hilarious that pro skateboarders think that the only jobs out in the real world is McDonald’s and an office job.

How has Chris spent the majority of his life in LA without knowing what a michelada is?
-
One of the better episodes, Tommy Guns is the man. He is 100% SoCal fried.
-

I don't know if he grew up in the burbs but I know a lot people that grew up 30-40 minutes from San Francisco and hate Chinese Food nor has tried good Chinese Food. I have cousins that are Japanese and since they grew up in the burbs, they hate sushi. I feel like Crob must have had a sheltered life or something.
-
"Have you ever gotten Wecked before?"
Tommy: No because I don't do manuals!!
I loved this nine club! Tommy is so sick!
-
Tommy is awesome and I'd be down for a tommy chelada for sure! Can't wait for damn it all.

We should still see brockman and tony cervantes parts in the new video. Not at the level of tgunz but ya know

This made me want to go back and watch some of his old parts.
It was a little awkward whenever he talked about Jamie, it always seemed to start with some form of “I don’t want to talk shit about him, but...”

Both Kelly and Chris don't seem to be able to grasp that skateboarding exists outside the realm of sponsorship and "the industry"

Damn, the way this one started talking about blacking out on a trick, really intrigued me. Fun way to start what was a fun episode. Tommy brought the party. With all that said, I like Tommy, but at the same time I don't think I could tour with that dude. I'm not stranger to people smoking weed or anything, but I love how he was like "Sorry I'm smoking out your place dude." Haha dude didn't even ask...and now I feel like goddamn Mr. Manners.
Also kinda crazy he justified the corrupt cops by "well, we're in their country."
Regardless, always have thought the dude was awesome on a skateboard, and thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Sucks he doesn't have a shoe sponsor, and I definitely don't know dude, but I wonder if that's brought on by himself.
-
Good episode and I respect his skating allot. But fuck. Weed talk is boring.
-
When they were all trying to do math about episode 420 was the funniest part. Good episode for sure. I do wish they would have brought up the "Die Trying" tattoo.

I liked the episode as well, as far as the cops thing goes I feel like he's kinda right. In places like that 100x more than here if they want to jam you up they just will and you have to play the game. I haven't spent too much time in Mexico but at least in Bolivia if they know you're visiting you better be ready to fork over some cash, they know you have it

Yeah that threw me off too. Like making a dumb decision as a kid but then following it up with "Some dude called me out at a signing and I was like "Yeah so what do you want me to do?"

“Authentic Mexican food,” no such thing. It’s impossible to sum up an entire large nation’s culinary experience through one rendition of a dish or flavor. Authenticity is per household and neighborhood.
Change my mind.

It’s gotta be a big culture shock to those in their 30’s/40’s who’ve never had a real job. Wait until the day comes where they learn that there are unsponsored people who work 40+ hours a week and still skate/film regularly.

I understand that it's one of those things thats to be expected, how little money people make in those countries, and that it's almost like customary to have to pay off the crooked cops...cause they are all crooked. With that said, I just think it's crazy to justify corruption like that. I'm not placing blame on the police officers themselves, and I just think having to justify it sucks. Tommy: "I'm trying to finish these three beers"
Crob: "Shotgun those three beers"
Kelly: "YEEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH LETS FIRE IT UP, DUDE!"

you realize that a decent radio host will play dumb so that the audience learns about what they are talking about with the host. stern does it all the time.
im sure chris has heard of that drink, but a ton of people that listen probably havent.
edit: yeah ten minutes in i think i was wrong, chris is more oblivious than he is a good radio host.

it can be authentic as far as the region the people who run the restaurant are from. Or should they have every single variety on the menu?

Dang, fuck this dude for that VX story. It’s one thing to make poor decisions in your past, but his attitude about it sucks. “Can’t worry about da haters, maaaaan!” Sounds like he even had an opportunity to make things right when he made it and was still a dick about it.
-
spliffing up without asking permission to do so is a dick move as is stealing someone's camera.
If the dude confronted you at some demo/ signing, at least hook him up with a stack of proddy no?
I would have asked him about the whole "bones love milk" campaign he was promoting a while back but I guess that's a little bit too controversial for the 9 club?
Weed maps/ stoner talk was full body cringe inducing :o

You nailed it on the first sentence depending on region size and population to an extent. Believe it or not this is the topic of some heavy culinary ethical debates. There is even comics being written by a lot of wild folks high up in the journalism scene of it to help us plebes comprehend it.

How has no one mentioned that he was chillin with T-Bone!! Hahaha Thats also some wild ass shit!!! Damn I wonder if Tyrone Olson's treflip and nollie hardflip ever got better. Just watched his Storm part, and while he did some solid ass shit, damn he had the worst treflip. Maybe it was switch. Then that ghost nollie hardflip haha. Hate hate hate.

I got so excited when I heard T-Bone was there and to have Crob mention that he should be on the show made me smile. I’m sure he has some mad stories from the Storm days.
I could also see a Josh Kasper episode being a Kk eye opening one, although I have a feeling that ihe would be difficult to listen to. Just the impression that I have of him.

"let me just list a bunch of gross uncreative tricks he did to convince people he had good style and was creative! that'll show them!" - You, a true brain genius

Doing more tricks down a gap that got blown out in 2001, Berrics flat bar tricks down a rail, and a fucking pivot fakie in Barcelona specifically used to fill a few moments in a slow part in the song?
YOU'RE RIGHT! He's creative as fuck. Gotta wonder why fakie double flips out of switch nose manuals didn't catch on.
Dude has no sense of what is cool or looks good on a skateboard and looks like a skateboarding version of the Lard Lad donuts mascot that came to life in that Simpsons episode.
Also, manual to ollie down something - especially when it's got a perfect run up, a perfect pad with no cracks, and is straight on, like that, isn't crazy in the slightest. You go faster than a normal ollie. This is one of my go to's because it's easy and because simpletons think it's difficult.

Totally hear you if the topic was "skateboarding culture who left one-dimensional SoCal rail and stair skating in the past". but the topic is just Tommy Sandoval. so hear ME out. stay on topic maybe?? You gotta remember. this was before instagram and social media when the only way to see this footage was to buy the video. Before the berrics. When scheckler was the only grom. Jamie Thomas Misled youth part is shit compared to Jamie Foys instagram but is that actually true?
-
The topic was Tommy Sandoval, and people were talking about how Tommy Sandoval's skating was gross, and then you came in talking about the ADIO gap and the Osiris manual pads and the NSS pivot to fakie, and then people pointed out that everything you said was basically a non sequitur, then you posted a Terry Kennedy part for some reason, and despite that, now you're imploring people to stay on topic.
Also, stop talking like you're some kind of elder. I was in high school when that Tommy Sandoval part came out. We're the same fucking age.
-
Episode was the most fun in a while.
His style is good for a huckster, not many hucksters are creative though - joslin, kwalks, even reynolds. I think chima has the best style for a huckster. But I wonder who would be a creative huckster?
Just gonna type huckster again

When scheckler was the only grom.
I remember this time period vividly - even though I try my hardest not to. We were worried skateboarding was going to die out because no new groms were being created. Then, Gretchen 'scheckler' was pregnant with ryan scheckler and had to be protected - much like the plot of the film Children of Men, which (not coincidentally) came out in 2006, the peak year of creativity, style, and flavor in So-Cal skateboarding as a whole.
God speed, Sect Eye Monster, if that is your real name.
