Maybe because I suck at skateboarding and never came close to being pro, let alone sponsored, I've always pondered something...
Some companies and pros seem like a really tight-knit group, which makes compete sense to me. You travel and work with a group of people, you're bound to become pals. In that same stroke of the brush, you're probably going to make sure your pals (who are basically instagram social media influencers, high-level) don't post a bunch of weird shit to make themselves or you look like a kook by association.
I notice a major disconnect with some pros and in turn they've become black-listed/ the pariah of the industry. Moose, Slash, Furby, etc.. Come to think of it, Deathwish kind of has a stigma with dudes getting blacklisted or kooked out of the spotlight. Hmm.... cross post into conspiracy thread about Deathwish being the ring leader in career demise?
