Hi guys, what is the OJ equivalent of bones STF 83b?Is their hardest duro 101a and how do you like them?Do they flatspot?
thx!
No one makes any wheels quite like Bones or Spitifre - they do their own formulas and make them very well for what they are.
Everything else, even Ojs are a step down from that, without trying to be too blunt or negative, so yeah they will flatspot and not skate quite as well in any of their formulas as Bones wheels.
The B scale is said to be about 20 points on the A scale, so 83B would be about 103A, but as the A scale doesn't really go over 99, 100 or 101 there isn't really a comparison, but if hardness was measured in how slick something was, the Street Tech Formula would be up there being very slick with some other wheels (depending on surface being skated) feeling a little less slick or even with a bit more grip in any OJ wheel in any current option, besides the old Insaneathane formula.
Some people like OJs while others do not - down to personal opinion and what people want out of a wheel - but if they are cheap and available, give them a go and see what they are like.
https://ojwheels.com/urethaneI am not going to go into detail about each of the wheel types, but you pretty much have the elite formula, original formula, then softer duro options and cruiser wheels.
Elite is the most common that people ride so try those ones if you want, more so than the others.
