very fun for the replay editor and putting together ledge and rail and (to an extent)gaps/stair tricks. the lack of set animations makes it fun to do tricks until you get them to look the way you want.
however, it has quite a ways to go.
even tho i like that they modelled stuff after real spots, they are all stairs, gaps, ledges and rails. pretty much everything feels very intended for you to skate and pretty well anything that isnt, isnt skateable. err... i guess i feel the skate levels had that as well as a design that allowed for skating things that werent intended or not as obvious. for example there are not really any hill spots in xl(i dont think the level sizes would allow it) and youre guy reaches top speed after 3 pushes, which starts to feel kinda limiting.
no pedestrians or moving vehicles kinda make the levels feel like ghost towns(la especially).
i have no regrets paying the 45 clams or whatever it was, but i really like messing with the replay editor and putting together lil clips(yeah, i am nerd). if you do not, im not sure that id recommend it at the price unless they promise new maps.
really good for what it is, but it's essentially 1/2 or 2/3 of a game at its current state without mods. im glad they decided to get it out at this state, but i hope they dont just stop here. i wouldnt mind paying again
but yeah, i went from being super hyped on it and assuming it was a very vast game to getting a little bored and feeling its limitations pretty quick. some of my fellow nerds and i have been doing little contests and have a group chat that keeps the game a little more fun
