That's just an AR-15, I use the military version (M4) and I am not to thrilled with them, they are carbon magnets, a bitch to clean, and I've had a few feed issues, then again, I have the option for burst, which AR's don't. What type of sights are you using on that thing? And the front grip is weird.
No kdding it's just an AR-15. I don't have the income to get a Class-3 License, which is needed to purchase an M-4/A3.
They sure are carbon magnets, but have the luxury of stripping easily. I have only found the locking lugs on the bolt hard to clean.
I have yet to have a feed issue (miss-feed/double feed). Then again, I am not in a desert/tropical enviornment.
The sight is a Trijicon TA-31RCOM4 Acog 4X32 USMC Combat Optic Sight. This is THE sight Marines are issued. It has an optical reticle, which is illuminated either by the fiber optic (light is collected in the fiber optic cable located on top of the sight, which is then fed into the sight, illuminated the reticle), or the slightly radioactive tritium gas which is sealed inside the sight. When there is no natural light source, say you are in a basement, the radioactive tritium illuminates the optic. This is a 24/7 illuminated optical sight. No batteries.
The 'grip' or handguard/barrel shroud is a Midwest Industries rail system. This allows for grips, bipods, M203 Grenade Launchers, and a whole lot of other accessories to be attached. It looks strange because I have rail covers over the rails. As I don't have any accessories, I have covered them up
