-
switch tre into that bank was nice, he was haulin ass.
-
Just what I needed with all this commotion going on..
Andrew allen is the best! Classic AA tricks and spots with a great song..
-
I think this is his best part. Music, editing, and tricks.
-
I love it and him and everything about it
-

Hahah. I read this before watching and was anticipating it the entire time. I didn’t expect him to literally stop.

Do people forget he used to actually do hard tricks? There were a few good tricks in there but really? I understand he's cool guy and ya when he does a real trick hes got great style but am I really the only one that thinks his footage in the last 5 years has been pretty trash? bring back switch bigspin front board and switch bigflip andrew allen plz

You guys make me sick
-
Well, that was just delightful.
-
You want old Andrew Allen, go watch his old parts. Do you really expect a dude to hit his thirties and continue to do shit like switch bigspin front boards down rails?
I've really enjoyed his evolution. Ever since he went sober, he's looked more solid on a board than ever before, and he's got a great eye for crusty L.A. spots you wouldn't think were skateable. This part, and his two other Hockey parts, were all fantastic.

The best part is in the background the sign says "No vans or campers overhead..." and AA was wearing Vans and camping out on that trick overhead. Brilliant.
-
Well at least we have real skate Content to save us from the trash that has become the “useless wooden toy” folder.
I liked the song and it went along nice with that slappy around the curvy curb. Happy thoughts. He is one of the few that can still
Find interesting LA spots, VA probably being the only other
Enjoy skating this weeked and have fun

I defintley agree. He was so fucking gnarly back then..
That being said, I really liked this part tho. The switch 5-0 on the curb got me extra stoked. The front rock gave me a chuckle until I saw how fast he was going. Saw the acosta photo and it looked different in my head.
Don't forget:

dude is a footage machine. CONFIRMED
love how they picked up from the same spot where they left off in HOCKEY 3
k rod board is a 8.18, disrespectful smh
I would be all for buying FA/Hockey boards if only they made more boards bigger than 8.25. they always put the worst graphics on the few 8.38/8.5s they do make.

Of course, I understand he's older I don't expect him to huck down rails but how about a nice ledge line with some real tricks or something other than dumpy front rocks on barriers and noseslide variations. And really I'm not even trying to hate I still fuck with him he seems like a rad dude but the praise for him is outrageous.
-
I did notice rails on his board in the last clip, is that a new thing for him? I believe so.
-
Run on noseblunt was tight.
-
If Fred Gall is god, Andrew Allen is Jesus. A joint part would be heaven.
-
I love all AA but saying this is his best part is insane

Townes :)

Exactly. There was some good stylish shit in there, but lets not kid ourselves.
I liked his HOCKEY III part better

It was close to best but no LA high clips so...

i think the original statement was more about the entire aesthetic rather than just the difficulty of tricks.

im down for new AA, but it would be sick to see him do a big or long switch backtail or possibly even some vintage AA like people said ie switch heel front board on something. i feel like he still has it in him and it would stand out amongst his current usual way of skating. maybe im way off, but itd be cool if he threw in something tech every once in a while. having said all that, the switch ollie from bank to bank was probably my favourite clip
-
2 pages and no mention of his jason jessee t shirt?

2 pages and no mention of his jason jessee t shirt?
I didn't notice it. Maybe we wanted to just watch some skate footage and maybe forget about Jason fucking Jessee for 2 seconds, but apparently he wore some shirt of him and we are supposed to carry on with the same conversation that we've been having in every thread.
Jason Jesse sucks.
Andrew Allen is still cool, despite a momentary wardrobe malfunction. (Actually he has those a lot)
-
Always stoked for new AA but where's the K-Rod welcome to Hockey part?

I jest. He was wearing one. I'm still a big AA fan. Skateboarding and his fashion.

I did like the noseslide yank to boardslide line with the bump to bump sOllie at the end.

Same. Wouldve been rad if grabbed on, inspiring the kids inside to be like him.

This is obviously extras type stuff he had around. Still a treat to watch but expect "real tricks" in his next thing.

Somewhere pops is like where are my sponsors after watching this. Love AA and love Pops. Don’t come after me

I believe Fitz had terrible knee injuries and had a few surgeries. Was wondering about Terp too though. Haven't seen anything from him since that Nike SB part a while ago. I guess that's the good thing about being on Nike - so many people that you can go a year or two without delivering at least an ad.

I liked that as well...It's like you could actually edit this part into Hockey III if you wanted
I wish FA & Hockey made boards with longer wheelbases, nothing larger than 14.38 that I've been able to find
Edit: I admire the fact that they don't have any though, makes me think they care about what the kids are riding and having the boards be proportional to them rather than dumb adults like us

I'm sure the rest of the team will have some stuff for Hockey IV,whenever that drops. All of them are out skating,Terp has had quite a bit if skating on his insta stoties...curbs mostly but still haha. I'd be stoked on more Donovan footage and Caleb, of course any AA footy is a blessing.

for some reason, that part reminded me of clint eastwood. AA is amazing.

I like where your heads at but definitely not, old alien shapes/most schimdtt boards tend to have smaller wheel bases. I know they use generator now but from what ive seen they still have the same shapes.
Used to skate only dlx and now skate only schimdtt, grew to like the smaller wheelbase its easier to maneuver.

Love watching AA cruise the streets doing tricks but the whole "setup -> trick into bank -> roll away" does nothing for me
-
I couldn't wait until Monday but AA is my MCM. :-*
-
Respect AA the god. He’s been on at least a part a year now for a few years, which is commendable, switch back heel or not.
-
this part was good b-roll, but damn that Prevent this tragedy remix was insane. thanks for the reminder. AA has the juice
-
i love every bit of andrew allen but yeah anti hero era andrew allen was the best hands down. prevent this tragedy was his best part. the welcome to antihero was sick too and the 411 part. i still love everything the guy does but you can't fuck with his earlier stuff.
-
The switch ride on 5-0 around the curved curb and the fakie varial flip into the bank were my favorite tricks. I like his affinity for doing tricks into sketchy banks; one of my favorite things in skating is doing tricks into banks; it's so fun and a lot can go wrong (I broke my arm years ago skating into a bank) so it's such a rush when you ride away.
-
It was Ok, I think this was more throwaway footage. His Hockey II and III parts were way better
-
Surprised no one has brought up the thread the needles angled curb to angled curb transfer in the line after the bs noseslide grab to boardslide. It was low impact but must have required some husky finesse. I love AA. Immediately rewatched the Conversation w/ Frank Gerwer after. "Great dude, on and off the board."
-
Townes :)
Hope they paid the rights so it doesn't get taken down. I know the Van Zandt family and they got ripped off the entire time he was alive and several years after. They only sorted out rights a few years ago. The best, AA and Townes, classic
-
Oh and good move not using Burzum again...

Dude! That conversation with Gerwer is the best! I try to share it with the younger generation every now and then, but most of them can't hang cause of their seemingly built in ADHD. PORKCHOP!!!!

i know it might not happen seeing that he is working a good job now, but i've got high hopes that they put jon sciano fully on.

not his best but nice. I didn't get into Andrew allen till 10 years after he came out. I didn't love his 00s stuff as gnar as it was. I like the astectic of what he's been doing with the 'hipster uncle' thing. The tricks he's selecting these days look better with his frame and style imo.

The creepy hipster uncle I wish I had. I don't often wish I was husky, but something about bending the board on a boardslide makes me want to put on a few.

He picks and chooses his battles these days, I watched him try that blunt kickflip fakie at the big LA High bank for at least 2 hours, came close, but didn't get it (I left before he gave up for the day,but he had on different clothes in the Hockey III make) The fact he's been producing so much footage since Propellor is fucking great though.
