Yeah, even if California has a lot of talent, if you live near any big city you have more than enough opportunities to make a name for yourself. The amount of people I saw move to SF and instantly blow up with opportunity for coverage is insane. I suppose there is an economic issue when you fly dudes out to SF though. I would guess nobody wants to buy the plane ticket from India even if a kid puts out a mindblowing part when you can fly a different kid in from San Diego instead

I would guess nobody wants to buy the plane ticket from India

while that would be an issue, last year was really just a fluke. california just had the best crop. it wasn't designed to be that way, and it certainly wasn't that way in prior years. this year i haven't gotten any info about people's hometowns yet, we're just picking favorites out based on the skating.

started going through everything today--  waaaaaay more entries than last year, which was more than the years before. so it's gonna take awhile. my plan is to try to get a top 20 cut, bring in some guest judges to help make the 10 cut, and then work on the honorable mention montage. i'd like to say it'll be next week, but most likely it'll be the following before the finalists are announced. but i can say that there are a lot of great videos, the voting is going to be be hard!

we're getting into it, working on the montage already. got it narrowed down to 15 guys right now for the top 10 spots, so five will go to the montage and the top 10 will be announced after the montage drops... aiming for monday august 2nd to kick it off, keep you posted...
