2001, I was 14, and super into blink182 and the shit they wore (Hurley & Adio).

The set-up was a 7.75 Element Fire team deck with Tensor mids (silver hanger, red base, black slider) and blank white 54mm's.  I skated some shitty sport skate shoes then got some Navy/White Mojo's.

'86, got a Santa Cruz Hosoi for Christmas but had to set it up with my old Action Sports trucks and wheels. A few months later I got a pair of Indys and then some OJ IIs for my birthday. I was 11.

damn, some of you guys are youngsters. spring of 1995, i was 14, a used t&c surf shop deck and i don't remember the trucks and wheels. i think my next board was a used birdhouse ocean howell. i honestly don't remember the first legit brand new deck i got. before that i hung out with these kids (still some of my best friends to this day) that skated and we'd go to this empty lot where a bunch of other kids skated and i'd borrow boards from dudes who were afraid to skate in front of other people. that was funny. my mom bought me a board out of the JC Penny catalog in 1987 and i lost it a few days later. then i got a random hand me down Vision Shredder with Indys and some big blue wheels when I lived in Alaska for a minute and then didn't really touch a board until 1994ish.
one-upping is rad.  so is beaming.  both so unquestionably identify the kooks...saves a lot of wasted time/small talk.  you instantly know who to avoid.

Must have been 2000, and I would have been 11. Mini-logo deck with ventures, reds bearings, and I have no idea what wheels. I remember skating around the mall sidewalks and being stoked on dropping off the curb.

my first board was a cheapo board with plastic wheels and a batman logo that my dad got me from a tag sale. then came countless caldors/woolworth/exito/el cafetero plastic wheels/chinese birchwood setups.

i dont like to count this one as my first "real" setup but it was. a tailess/bullet nose scott conklin aws board in '95 or '96 given to me by a cousin. waterlogged. barely rolled. my cousin would put leftover cooking oil in the wheels just so they could move  :P. we were young and dumb.

the real setup came when i moved to connecticut. beer city blank. venture tallboys. beer city wheels. 4 days later, my dad backed his car up into it, and i upgraded to a 23 ronnie bertino. the one with twinkie the kid getting chased.

7.5" P-Rod Girl deck
Destructo trucks
blank wheels
bones reds

I was 12 or 13 and it was in 2003.

I normally hang on to things that bear the slightest hint of sentimental value, but I just sold that board a year ago, and for some reason have very little attachment to it.

A Zero Jamie Thomas board, I think it was the American Flag one. I had some venture trucks that were red and white and some blue wheels to match the American flag. I seriously thought it was the best thing in the world. That was around 5 years ago.
The answer is Dutch Masters, you fat fucking catastrophe.

I had a nash before it that I skated the shit out of like it  was a real board, but my first legit set up was in 92 or 93. I was 10 at the time. Powell skull and sword slick, thunder t-4 trucks, ccs blank 42.5 mm wheels, and gmn bearings.
Are you a kook? If you would say this, the answer is “YES”
I quit skating for a time due to piling out

i had an early flip board and a blind board but i dont think i had either for very long (lost them or traded for surfboards), i remember my re-introduction to skating in 1999, i was 13, when i started skating again but i already could do the basics (grind, boardslide, kickflip, heelflip etc)... i had a jeron wilson girl board, i had mercury or ventures, dont remember, and it had some black label 53s..that shit lasted forever, when girl boards were nice and flat

edit,
i can vaguely remember aquiring an acme board too somehow when i was probably 9. it was a slick bottom and it sucked
