switch and nollie game is solid with this one
-
Amazing!
-
Big fan of Niels and Mulhern - a great combination. Fakie pop out of the fakie 5050 down that gold rail was really sick.
-
I feel the fact that he is in Girl is making him a bit slept on. I know this won't make much sense at first, but he'd have more exposure on a brand like Alien/Habitat or something ala Joey O where he could use the money to work with a filmer directly instead of spending time getting sucked into Crail edits everyone immediately forgets.
-
my beautiful boy does it again
clip on that CoL bollard was mad.
-
Big fan. Niels got it.

That frontside half cab to 5-0 was crazy. He gets extra points for not throwing a 180 out. This part was refreshing
-
Damnnnn skating to Jorge Ben!!
-
good shit fourwheels
-
FL represent! Favorite dude on a board. Niels will forever do no wrong in my eyes.
-
Hell yeah! I loved this. Haven’t paid much attention to him because I haven’t liked much of post 2012 Crail new guys except griffin gass and sometimes Simon, but this was fucking rad. Get some suciu vibes in a very good way.

amazing part and trick selection! been a fan since his venture part. hit fits have gotten baggier since then 8)

That was amazing.
-
1:17, been waiting/wishing for footage of that for a minute.
-
Best fits in current days. Loved those shell toes.
-
I've been waiting for more solo projects from him; was very happy to see this pop up.
He's definitely got IT
-
Nice part - solid watch. Niels is a ripper and Mulhern always does a really good job. Also stoked on the use of Everyday People by Sly & the Family Stone

Mark Suciu + Richard Angelides for me. One of the best parts out yet this year.
-
Exactly what I needed today
-
is this the definitive Niels part so far? I think so.
That line with the 8 stair wallride on brick in the middle of the line is just insane. to have wallrides down stairs so locked in that you can land in setup position for flip trick down more stairs is buckwild.
have'nt immediately rewatched a part in a while but i just did it here. Can't wait to do so again

Wow i never noticed but you're right. def getting those vibes
-
dude is so sick.
180 switch 5-0 steezy ride away was awesome.
was the last trick someone else?
-
Gonna save this one for later when I can watch it with the sound on. Really excited, I love his skating. Very underrated skater
-
Dude is an enigma. What a part with the editing and music and always with the spot and trick selection.
He’s got this really stoney style to his skating that is kinda euphoric. Hard to describe.
I probably have 5000 of the views on the reverb part Daniel saved for us:
http://youtu.be/nj91atu--8Y
-
cot damn
-
My goodness, that's some classy skateboarding. Definitely gonna be on repeat.
-
Dude deserves better than the career graveyard that is modern day girl. Habitat seems fitting but I don’t know if he’d get more shine there . Quasi would be sick . Whole part is great. Nice treat on a shitty day
-
very good part with pleasing "hard-way" tricks, which are not that easy to produce imho. This is going to be on repeat.
Moreover, I love when someone skates a well-known spot but not because of the obstacles the spot is known for. As in, his ender the ollie over the street in Stuttgart and not the long ledge which everybody ususally skates

addidas deleting their own teams parts makes it quite hard to like the brand, even if personnel wise, they might be my fave.
-
also i think the that ssbs 5-0 fs shuv out clip is the first time i've seen that ledge to drop spot since tom penny skated it in really sorry.
-
Really good

I have this dumb idea that I wish he was on chocolate.
His whole thing is impeccable.
-
This is a classic part.
Great trick and spot selection.
Timeless style.
Some tech. Some sends. Some rails.
Skateboarding needs more Niels footage and skating in the future. He reps the best of us.
-
First half was brilliant in every way, but the Sly song in the second was so unbearably corny I couldn’t even enjoy the skating.
-
So many good parts this week! Footage overload but love it
-
Really cool way to showcase 2 different filmers/editors styles. Great watch.
-
Right amount of sag with Superstars
-

The Sly song really doesn't fit the edit at all, although I love the song.
-
Where is he from?
Pensacola, FL. I think he has some family in Europe somewhere and would visit, but he grew up and skated mostly in Pensacola, FL. I would run into him alot at the parks when he was a young kid. He is also from Slap lol.
-
In addition to the aforementioned Suciu vibes, there is also some very sexy Ishodness in his style in terms of effortless
-
need more videos filmed + edited like this. so fresh so clean

Simon's weird in that he has great tour footage but has never really dropped a defining part.
Niels is my favorite addition to Girl since they put on CK1, outside of when they added Jerry Hsu, but hard to compare a legend and one of my favorite skaters of all-time getting on to a kid getting the bump from flow.
-
Excellent part, saved to my YouTube playlist. Will help fuel the sessions when the snow melts.
Seems like just yesterday he was linking the meatspin video in reply to someone who asked how to replicate the authentic LA look.

Yeah, that Water Colours part made me a fan more than his The Flare part, but both had impressive shit. I'm glad Niels is out there getting footage though with Mulhern.

Finally watched, part was heldenhaft for real. I especially loved the handrail skating, sw bs nosegrind revert properly done? haven't seen that since Mariano's heyday I feel

Very tasteful selection of handrail tricks, 180s out of nosegrinds are rare breed.

What you're saying is valid IMO. I personally am not gonna click on another Girl Pacific NW tour edit that's a collab for a product capsule with a company like Kodak or Nat Geo or something that's 15 minutes and I don't remember anything that happened after the video ends.

I'd love to see them watch the Paco, Chocolate parts in Mouse, and Chocolate Tour and then wake up and watch Elijah and Raven footage from Pretty Sweet. Those two were both very confusing fits. Prior to that it was Eldridge as he was really the first big rail/hubba skater they put on Chocolate.

Most, if not all, folks have the opinion you do.
Elijah and Raven are/were super good tho. I thought trunk boyz was silly/corny, but I’m not so sure how someone can be really stoked on Cardiel and not like Raven. I’m sure of gone about this before, but Raven had some of the best looking style, on the big stuff. I generally don’t really care too much for transition footage, it’s just not my thing, but he is different.
For me, one of the things holding current crail back, is the old guys, the history, the fandom of folks my age, that have the ‘tap doing these callbacks or super obvious references to a bygone era. Every now and again that’s cool, but imo some of the skaters are kinda held back by all of the nostalgia. Whatever.
I’m going to watch this parts several more times and shut up.

I've got no probs with middle history crail. It's their company they can do whatever they want with whoever they want I just thought it was interesting they're kinda back to a certain point in the timeline. Funny right around when the Neil's part came out crail uploaded this which is kind of the same thing as far as someone who wasn't paying attention might be confused how this is girl not what they were used to ten years earlier.
https://youtu.be/LDlLiJJLKCo
Who knows tho maybe in ten years they'll have another Malto, CK, Olson etc and could make the same point if someone went into a coma after pretty sweet ..........

Great part. Take note Adidas.......Put out an ADV version of the shelltop mid with the strap. Bennett made these look so ill

I think Raven is/was a great skater, but it would sort of be like if they put a low impact tech ledge skater on Anti-Hero, it just felt weird. Like, Jesus Fernandez and Chico Brenes are undeniably great skaters, but their skating/image would look very out of place on Anti-Hero.

i can’t remember the specifics, but it was cool how he thanked rusty/tyler in some girl video, i think it was ‘doll’(?)
except girl removed tylers name, and his name only, from the credits when they reuploaded it. that was odd.
part was solid, tho the b roll of him standing looked forced and weird

Chocolate was always really cool to me, and Raven was a little…x-games/vans super comp due to the transition stuff.
I wasn’t bummed they were reaching, expanding. The brands kinda died out because they got so stuck. The first waves were too good.

Niels is unreal and one of the best additions they've made in years.
I think Chocolate early on was really good at adding skaters and expanding. Chocolate was probably my favorite brand for years, the team in my opinion was always stacked with very stylish skaters and almost always had better graphics than Girl (some of the Hecox series are my favorite by any brand), while Girl had/has skaters with great style, they always were more about pushing skating forward with tech skating while mostly making it look good. Chocolates early additions post-OG team was guys like Gino, Keenan, Scott Johnston and Kenny Anderson who are all amazingly stylish skaters, MJ is also one of the few who can make very tech skating look amazing, which is a rare gift. Both brands had trouble finding ams that fit and worked, but early on they were always great at adding newer pros like the ones mentioned or McCrank/BA for Girl.

Great part.
Having legacy pros is great but only having legacy pros was a problem. Crailtap has had some really good additions in the past few years. They should be doing smaller web videos every 3-6 months- so much talent so little output. Focus on the new pros and ams. People would gladly take clips of MC and the Ricks.

They have so many cool styles on the squad right now between Carl, Trahan, Gass, and Niels. I feel like this is the central issue, they are stacking talent but can't seem to convey that on a regular basis.
What is it about FA/Hockey and other similar brands where they can regularly get the point across, with every single video, that the team is filled with unique, great skaters? The only thing I can think of would be the creative direction of Maglinao.
Maybe the only other thing is maybe that in FA/Hockey clips, you get the impression that the dudes are in the van/on the trip/at the spot together, and that gives a little cohesion and impact. With Girl/Choc maybe you get the vibe that everyone is doing their own thing with shoe money and sending footage in.
It wasn't always this way -- I can name bascially everyone on the Super Champion Funzone tour by memory and even quote their one liners, even though i literally did not skate during that time and i discovered it 10 years later.
What is it? Is crail as a company just a slower moving ship that is still struggling to adapt to the internet? Seems like they put alot of effort into the skits, etc in the last video, which was a cool nod to the 90s, but really maybe they should have been firing that video off in 10 minute chunks and locking Spike out of the creative meetings.

Nils & Erik Herrera were top notch additions to the craig camp
