It's always super interesting learning about past moments in wrestling. Here's a blurred line between kayfaybe and reality moment. A Canadian NCAA amateur wrestler, John Tenta, turned sumo competitor, then pro-wrestler was matched up against a former sumo athlete & hothead named Koji Kitao. Koji didn't want to sell and or cooperate as things got tense based on some kind of sumo pride/rivalry in Koji's head.

Apparently the Hulkster — ya know, the guy that was supposed to be in Metallica — claims Tenta covered for him that night, cause he knew Koji was gonna put him in some shit: https://youtu.be/AukVofRrSP8?t=1551

Tenta/Earthquake/Avalanche/the Shark was the sickest. Had he been a tad more agile i.e Bam Bam Bigelow, I think he would have been pushed more as he was main event status.

Hell yeah. As it actually turns out there was a darkside of the ring on him that came out not that long ago. just watched it:

Yes! I need to watch it. I’ve been slacking on those with just keeping up with weekly wrestling.

RAW last night was perfect. Dragunov VS Ricochet was an instant classic. The match was longer & many close three counts. The chemistry between the two was evident & Dragunov advancing to the King of the Ring only increases the chances that he will go against Gunther who also won against Sheamus last night. Double wins for me as Gunther & Dragunov are my favorites. The Mad Dragon is just on a whole other level . Workhorse with style & even makes losing look good.

i'm not saying this to bother anyone, but i don't get melvins. all of my good friends who have musical taste that somewhat aligns with mine are fans of them, my partner is a big fan and they're obviously influential - but i get bored every time they are played.

are they incredible live? if you feel like there's an undeniably great track of theirs, could you please link it. i feel like i'm missing something.

to each their own if you don't dig the music, but as far as heavy alternative rock goes they are very much "your favorite band's favorite band" kinda status. If you like any grunge/metal/sludge/prog band from the late 80's beyond, odds are they are taking some cues from the Melvins. They were freaks even by their peers' standards musically, and even 40 years after forming they still manage to sound fresh among a sea of Black Sabbath worship. And yeah, they are pretty incredible live. Worth seeing if you ever have even a passing interest. It's fine if you don't know the songs.

I'm not sure what tracks you've tried, but I'll just leave this 2011 set they did. In my opinion one of the highest points of their career, and that's almost 30 years into being a band.

As a Sixers fan, I’ve got to say that while he may look really unhealthy, Tom Thibodeau is a genius coach. Every one of those Knick games has been a coaching master class.

The Villanova formula is genius too. There’s a lot to be said for rapport. That Villanova three has blown phoenixes big three out of the water. There are actually more examples of big threes failing than there are achieving the desired goal.

Chandler Rules, and this opens quite a can of worms of potential skate related drag names.

Original Curb Killer signed by Ira and the Fosman that used to be a wallhanger. Haven't skated a round tail for quite some time, but it's a nice change of pace. It feels very nimble compared to the Heroin Mutant I was skating before this, although the tail is a bit on the small side. The new symmetrical ones seem to have specs more to my liking, so I ordered one of those if I ever feel the need for a round tail again.

Cyrus in the 917 video used two Melvins tracks. They’ve been used for a bunch of other stuff.
