I never tried to make a noselide or a tailslide with Thunder trucks, because I never owned a pair of them and I dont like to use other people skateboards, but the base of the truck seem to short ( small ) and it seem that when you make a nose or tailslide the wheels are the gonna slide on the curb insted the truck, which seem to be harder to make the slide.
Opinions please.

Yes.
-
I used to only skate thunders and one of the 5 tricks I can do well is front noseslides. Idk if correlation is causation here but they seemed to help me
-
only tensors work for noseslides and tailslides ya dam idiot
-
I assure you, Thunders work great for nosesides and tailslides!
-
Nobody on the Thunder team does nose- or tailslides for this very reason. Jason Adams - only does slappies. Jamie Thomas - only does backside lipslides. Ishod Wair - only does backside smith grinds.

Jason Adams hasn't rode Thunders for a long time now. Ace...

WAIT ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT YOUR WHEELS WONT TOUCH THE LEDGE WHEN YOU SKATE INDYS?????

cool. I did not know that. I wonder if he still uses risers. I noticed he had risers on his old setups and I wondered if that would help with slappies at all.

I think it just has to do with the whole wheelbite thing. With Thunders he was always using risers cause even their "hi's" are low. After looking on his instagram looks like he uses a 1/8" riser with probably some 55-56mm wheels on those Ace's.

My last and current pair are hollow lights. As long as the ledge isn't too crusty and I go fast enough, the wheels never stick.
-
I refuse to believe this a serious question.

YES!

Thunder Light baseplates will break on you pretty quickly, but you could definitely get some noseslides in.

well.....mine did not break after a year!
-
After a year and a half i'm amazed with my pair of thunder Lights (I came from Indendent and it's very hard to find something at indy level)
It works for nose/tailslide
-
I know it maybe seems weird fro me to ask this, because Thunder has a super sick team and their reputation on the trucks itself is very good, but you cannot deny the fact that their base is too small, which avoid me like many other persons I know to buy them.

Very obviously there's a simple soloution here. Buy a brand new pair of Thunders. Get out your trusty Sawzall, cut a notch out of the baseplate, retrofit with a Tensor slider plate, ride 40mm wheels and noseslide and tailslide to your heart's content. Duh.

I don't think any trucks are good for nose slides and tail slides. I've tried so many brands and no matter what, every time I try to do a nose slide I stick. The search continues I guess.
On a side note, does anyone know if Bones wheels are good for rolling? I have Spitfires and they roll OK, but are bones better? Sometimes its hard for me to get up ramps at the park with my spitfires, so thats why I'm asking.

The lights are pretty shit man, wheelbite and thin flimsy baseplates
Don't come at me with this bullshit I know what's up- DONT BUY HOLLOW/LIGHT TRUCKS, guaranteed to snag more on nose and tailslides too. Nothing behind it
-
but my question is, why they make the base plates so short, its easier and you have a more smooth slide when the base are a lil bit longer like in almost all other brands.

this is a tailslide. you think Ishod was concerned about his baseplate here?

I was talking more about tail and nose slides on ledges, but whatever.

I've found that Thunder Hardware is best for all of the shuv-it variations.

Indy 149 and 7/8" Shortys Lites are best for switch heel flips, nollie nose manuals, and backside 180s.

I've noticed with spitfires my wheels touch the ground
-
You have to have the Lites because they weight less. The regular nutz are too heavy and that inhibits the ollie part of the nollie.

you also have to make sure that you evenly tighten the wheel bolts so you have a balanced setup and your flips rotate equally good whether you do a kickflip or a heelflip. softer bushings give you "springier pop"
-
And you should really make sure your wheel nutz are flush with you axle so no threads are exposed and do the same for your kingpin. You should never have any threads exposed other than your mounting hardware. There's a few reasons for this but the main ones are that it looks good, you don't have to worry about stripping your nutz, and it ensures your trucks are loose and you can actually turn and balance like a grown up.
If your a giant fat ass and flush kingpin nutz a too loose for you, lose weight or get harder bushings so you can go flush.

Nope. You have to get the old tensors with the plastic slider. No other trucks will work for tailslides period!

are colored wheels good for skating launch ramps? ???
