I'm playing Skate and Destroy for the first time ever, fuck this game is hard after playing THPS for years. Just spent about half an hour trying to do a pupecki grind.
That game was so dope. Still the toughest of them. I remember at one point being all about doing nollieflip back 5-0 frontside 180 out like Mike Carroll in modus. It was so damn hard, looked all choppy and dumb when I did it, and got me hyped. I also loved how in that game ollieing like 10 stairs was kinda hard.
On the china banks level there is this ledge that runs into a wall and i had endless lines to it where you had to time a flip trick perfectly to make it over it.I loved that game so much, getting hit by the lame subway, nollies looked dope.I always wondered if the ramp hidden in the building in sf hills was supposed to be phelps ramp the widowmaker.
I was all about trying to time it right so I could do 360 ollies off the ledge over the subway train. Also, when time ran out, I was all about trying to kill the dude chasing me by outrunning him for\long enough time, rather than just leaving the level. Subway level that's easy, when he comes at you, you just ollie onto the top level, and he gets stuck at the bottom screaming.
see what im saying? now that was a fucking brilliant game, way ahead of its time, as i stated at the beginning of the thread. it has real skate spots that are actually good and what people wanted. i got sick of skate after like half hour. i played thrasher for years. then i started doing expert mode, you have to press square right when you hit the ground otherwise you will bail. if you hit it too soon you will also bail.
also i was super into nollie flip 5-0 fs 180 out too... especially since you cant bs 180 out of grinds in that game haha
the manuals sucked in that game but i ended up finding ways to make them look good.
subway the best is to nollie half cab over the rail and clear the entire train track... you can even ollie over the train too. subway is the best level, i also love doing lines at venice beach muska ledge, i always did heelflip fs tail to fakie, then sw fs blunt on muska ledge.
there is a sick roof gap on that level too... i remmber there being a double set that seeemd impossible to clear but i could wallride it and make it.., some kid told me he ollied it but i think hes full of shit.
south bank such a good level that mega long downhill ledge across the water is insane you get speeed from those banks at the beginning
washington square you can gap from pillar to pillar on the qps its insane
even the first level is really awesome. that whole game is just good, emb, thehills with that gap down to another hill... fuck bs flips for days
