-Yikes. To be a nit-picky know-it-all: for someone who seems to be inspired by "good style" or the team handsome/cherry zeitgeist, this isn't very good looking form. It's a bit stink bug looking. If she had saved some of the knee squatting to absorb impact at the bottom of the hill, she would have rolled away instead of her legs giving out.
-I don't mind her. I find her amusing and fun to watch to an extent, whilst also being able to totally acknowledge that she's just plain old, not very good. I just listened to her bunt interview and the whole time just had an underlying irritation that wouldn't go away, stating: "...but you're not that good." She stated that Strobeck and Dill saw a lot of her early youtube vids that were posted a few pages back, and that kind of got her foot in the door. This leads me to think she was just kind of tokenized for her background. This being 10 years ago, it was very rare to see someone of her background who was a workshop/fa fan girl & totally Arnie Stein'ed over Rieder.
-I want to support her, but it's hard to when you involuntarily have to question her merits and just feel surprised at her presence (where skill is usually the top priority and means of communication with a skate audience). I still remember brinks defensive rants on her (I think in a different thread) and it was clear that those who personally knew her had a special affinity for her, which is fine, but... c'mon. It's like putting the nba d-league on prime-time tv instead of Lebron's team. If you're a fan of skating and follow the mainstream of it, the last thing you should have to ask yourself when watching sponsored skaters is, "Wait, why is this person sponsored?" Maybe for a boardroom of business minded folk it makes sense, though. It's all very interesting to think about.
Saw this on the vans website. I actually like the colorway, myself:
