Its interesting, because the Duggar thing is basically the same kind of situation- currently famous person sexually assaulted young kids when he was younger, but still older than the victim and old enough to know better. It turns out, the outrage over that isn't something slap posters manufactured in order to have something to be pissed about. The Duggar show was cancelled pretty much immediately, but scumbag Berra defends the child abuser, because he is also a scumbag.
The point that the Berrics hires a known sexual predator and has unattended minors in there is terrible. He is a bad person who cares more about his brand image and "getting the shot" than the safety of children. And no, apologies don't make it ok. If you work with kids, there is legally supposed to be a background check which looks for things like this. If it comes to your attention that the employee is or has hurt children, especially in a sexual way, it doesn't matter how many apologies he gives, he is NOT to work for that company.
If A&E or bravo or whatever are pulling the Duggars, and have much more money for legal defense than the Berrics, than if I were Berra, I'd lawyer the fuck up or fire this terrible human.
I also want to point out that being young is not an excuse to entertain yourself by sexual assault. That shows a lack of human empathy at any age.
