wtf i completed spaced on the fact haslam is from ontario wtf
[close]

Haslam is from BC, never ONT. Apples came out at least 3-4 years before Morgan. Either of you remember Andrew Gordon? Also I would say Wade is equal to Morgan or Mark and also from ONT. Gibbs would have been the best though

I'd put Mark above Wade and Morgan, especially considering were talking career wise. Apples has atleast 2 legendary parts, a bunch of pro-shoes and a Skater of the Year award. I remember Andrew Gordon loosely but completely forgot about him. Also, Wade is from Ottawa which is where McCrank and Tony Ferguson are from, was talking more about the GTA area.

Haslam is from Ontario and lived there (and Singapore) before peacing out to BC in his late teens similar to McCrank. Morgan Smith is pretty much the only person from Toronto to stick around after going pro. Pretty much everyone moves to Van or California. Here is an interview where he talks about it.

He was, he was fully on from what I recall but only for a short time. He struggled/s with some mental illness and it lead to his departure. He's pretty openly talked about it in interviews before, I have no idea what's going on with him these days though.

I remembered Weiss, Boyle is before my time and vert.

Either way, Apples felt like the first Toronto area guy to really make a huge name for himself street skating. Prior to that, the biggest name was probably Thomas Morgan who has a bunch of Toronto clips in Timecode. Apples is a worldwide legend at this point or at least close to with a SOTY and big video parts that are well known. The other guys are well known, but the only Canadians I feel are as big or bigger names than Apples are Rick Howard, Colin McKay and McCrank.

ontario is almost double the size of california and toronto is the 4th or 5th largest city in north america the fact we can only name like 2 skaters from here is interesting

I remember watching that Soul Rebel part once when it came out and not giving it a second thought. I messed up. That whole part's really fucking good.
