spray painted Primitive deck
same thunders and bearings
some prototype Bones wheels

I also just picked up this New Deal deck. The re-release party is tonight, so there's a chance that I'm the first person that's not affiliated with New Deal or Dwindle to have one

Sick! Wanted that Howell board back in the day, ended up getting an Underworld Element a few years later.  You riding it or hanging it?
Most likely gonna skate it. I wind up skating my wall hanger boards almost every time I get one

8.25 - 8.375 deck from any brand that is pressed at generator/bbs.
149 Indys (upgraded with bones bushings - super important
Spitfire f4s conicals - 99a - 54mm
mob grib
bones reds for bearings most of the times.

best all rounder set up to me

alright, so I’m looking into getting 3 different completes soon. (7.8 and 50mm for the tech) (8.0 and 53 for the everyday) and (8.3-8.4 and 56mm for the transition stair/gap)
I’m about 5’6” weigh about 115lbs and have a size 9 shoe. would you consider an 8.3” too big or just right for what I’m looking for? I’ve been skating since 01’ and the biggest board I’ve ever had was an 8.125”, so I dont have any frame of reference.
This has me cracking up, what exactly does Black Flag have to do with measuring your dick starting behind ya nuts?

it is going to take some getting used to, but sure it will work out well.

why, though, do you want to size up if your setup doesn't feel too small?

Thanks for reply.
If it’s only about turning, ACE hard to beat.
How do you like the conical full, in the 52? I’ve got conical fulls, but they are 56s, huge and heavy. Been having much more fun on 52 classics, which are obviously much lighter. In retrospect, I should have gotten the larger size in the classics, smaller size in the fulls.

I really like them especially in going over hard pavement and stuff. Forgot to mention in the original post that they're 99a. The lock-in for slappies and grinds in general have been really nice on these as well, my only complaint is the weight.

My main setup uses some 52 Bones STF V1's and I've been really liking those a lot. They definitely have less weight to them than these, but having not used F4s in a minute and coming back to them makes me want to pick up a set of Tablets.

Skating the setup again yesterday, the lightness of the trucks definitely offsets the weight of the wheels. So the set up over all is pretty light.

Need a quick bit of insight

Just jumping back on after 10 yrs or so. Not overly skilled but looking to have fun. 33yo 6’4” 200 etc..

Have an enjoi 8.5” x 32.25” 14.25wb mellow concave/steep kick sitting new. Also  tensor 8.5” to set up..got thru friends... have softer spitfire 80hd 56mm which have been nice for shit northeast roads etc..

But I really want a 9”+ set up w my size 12/13 feet and generally wanting/need of stability. Just wanna do it right once and enjoy then see what happens.  Looking into diff shapes and wider tails, need consistency/confidence and do wanna pop ollies slappy try for a few flip tricks.

Set up the 8.5” or just go for new deck/truck combo..

The best thing would probably be to get

-anti hero orange eagle
-169 indy
-56 mm f4s

Just ride that, and see what you would want to tweak from there...

Myself and many people I know/ see at spots/ parks have ridden that exact set up into the ground 100 times over

Now I ride ace instead of Indy and 60mm wheels instead of 56 but it’s all preference

I can second that... and on 169s you are very versatile if you want to try other shapes. Basically everything from 8.8 to 10” is going to be good on them.
1/8” risers I would recommend on 169 with 56mm wheels

54s conicals would work well too. Then no risers needed. That's what I run on my big boy board and I don't bite.

Yeah those 60’s, and I feel you in crusty spots as I live in northern europe so it can be ruff out there. I personally can’t skate big wheels as I miss my pop way too often (I must have weak legs😄), and flip tricks are too weird to do b/c of heavy wheels. I just asked because I haven’t seen wheels that big outside local tranny rippers group, cool to see someone skates street with those💪

Sized down from an 8.38 to an 8.25. Not sure if i'll regret it yet. Been having a gear crisis with boards and shoes this year, I don't even know what I like anymore.

Pass~Port 8.25, Indy 149 standard, F4 Tablets 53mm.
