Good skateboarding.
-
absolutely lovely!
-
They've got a good team and put out some quality edits, but I swear I've never seen anyone wearing their shoes who didn't get them for free. Worst of the non-endemic shoe brands. All I see is senior citizen shoes.
-
well I'll be watching that again before I check my tortilla on the comal

I just got my first corpo shoes ever. Some Adidas mathcourt and some Jordan Taylor's NB. They're really good shoes. They're well made and really comfortable.
-
Great looking shoe and that was a helluva ad. Anybody skated a pair yet?
-
Knox's eye for spots and lines is sublime. He skates things most people wouldn't even give a second look.
I've been skating the 440 off and on over the last month or so. I used to skate the shit out of the Logan 637 so it was a logical progression.

Skatewise, I'm on my second pair of corpo shoes ever right now (or soon to be) - a pair of Nike Check Solarsofts. The first was a pair of Converse years ago that blew out/got too soft right away. These Nikes are comfortable, but I have to double tongue em' to keep my foot from slipping out when I push. We'll see how they are when I actually skate them with my next deck.
-
He is so, so good.
-
Honestly NB# makes some solid fucking shoes. I've skated probably a half dozen pair and they're my gold star standard shoe. Are these just his colorway of the 440 or is it his shoe now, like how P.J. Ladd has the 533?

Dude is boring as fuck. You have to be a fuckimg retart to like him. He does basic tricks in shit spots

Tom Knox is my favourite contemporary skater. Part of what makes him great is the spot selection- things that are unique and hard to skate that he handles effortlessly.
What's more, I prefer New Balance shoes and will keep buying them if they keep making them. Though, they let themselves down with the sizing debacle, and I think they have a tendency to make some very tame colour choices.
The 440 is a great shoe and would advise anyone to try it if they're looking to try something different.

That song worked fuckin mad, despite initially coming across as unusual for a skate clip the emotional depth had a great effect on the skating, i call trend.

so true. he's the fucking best. some modern day Oyola with exquisite taste in spots, style and good tech. Eleventh Hour and Vase parts on heavy rotation. don't feed the troll guys
-
This guy goes!
That line with the smith grind was so stylish!
Shame that NB# is so wack.. I always think of them as grandpa shoes

What sizing debacle?
I wear 11.5 in Nikes, what should I get for #NB?
-
For a long time, NB# themselves recommended sizing a half size up from your normal fit. Now they are claiming that is not the case but some of us who wear them still size up and are getting normal fits. They sized weird.

Whoever made this ad deserves a raise.

Jakeumms hit the nail on the head.
I'm snug in a UK 9 normally and was tending to seek out a UK 9.5 (in the 255, 358 and 533v1), but the 440 is relatively long, therefore I would go for a 9 in the future.
I think the UK sizes are a half size smaller than the US on the NB size guide, so a US 12 in the nb440 would fit you snuggly.

Yeah he's always been known for his shitty spot selection

That is the best semi-part of the year for me.
Was that done by Atlantic Drift? Surely it had to have been...
Tom Knox is one of the best right now.
-
I love Tom Knox, but that is one ugly ass looking shoe.
-
I’m on my second pair of 440’s. And they’re damn good! Best cup Solé I’ve skated in forever.
I also wear a 10.5 , the same size I wear in most brands.
Plus Tom Knox is fucking sick.
-

True. Yet I kind of want a pair because of this part.

Apparently filmed by Rich Smith, the Skateboard Cafe owner

I remember Rothdigga, saying I must have planted their office with spy equipment because I suggested a Knox, Trahan and Westgate video like Tri-Colour. I really hope that is still in the works, although I would assume Westgate is pretty wrapped up with the Element video.

You might want to peep the new Westgate interview in Thrasher this month...hint hint

I will never understand that logic. You're willing to wear a shoe you admit you think is ugly, just because you're a fan of someone's skating?
Had a discussion about this phenomenon with a friend recently. He was showing me a recent De La Soul track, saying how hyped he was on it. I didn't like it, and told him I haven't liked almost anything they put out since their second album. I still like old De La, and respect them, but I'm not going to pretend to like some music I don't actually like just because they made it. My friend is the opposite. He will listen to anything they make and love it no matter how it sounds, because it's De La Soul, and he clearly feels like he's disrespecting them if he doesn't like a certain track they made. It's so weird. Some people just can't be honest with themselves, and some other people just have no filter at all - everything is good.

I agree with your general point. But, you don't like Buhloon State of Mind and Stakes is High? Stakes is high is prolly my favorite De La album. I didn't really feel the AOI stuff, but Grind Date was sick too.

Meh, couple good songs after De La Is Dead, but more filler than bangers. Tom Penny is another good example of this - he was easily one of my favorites for many years, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna pretend like the footage he puts out now isn't a total embarrassment to his legacy.

part of it is because in my advanced age i dont really give a shit how something looks if it gets the job done. highly doubtful i will end up getting these though.

One of the most enjoyable skaters to watch. Skill, style, trick/spot selection. It's all there. I think the colorway/shoe fits him quite nicely.
I was trying to stay with #core shoe brands for a minute, but New Balance has done wonders for my feet. Plus they last so long. I'm currently skating a pair of NM#533 v.2s and it might be my favorite shoe I've skated. Best cupsoles in the game. I'm never going back.

Wait, so I can stop listening to Tin Machine, but still like Bowie?!

I've never had a negative thing to say about his skating. Add this to his pile of perfect footage.
