Genderqueer, he/they, that/bitch. came out as gay about 13 years go, did a soft coming out as genderqueer (i present as male and didn't feel a need for a big hoorah for me personally) earlier this year. only started skating again this year as well, haven't since shortly after i came out and even then just did mostly solo shit so didn't really interact with others, but it's been nice that literally nobody gives a single fuck or has hit me with the "just don't hit on me" line

Is there anyone else here that still hasn't openly come out yet? I've been in that boat the last few years after I started going to gay and queer club nights and realized how comfortable I was there. I feel like most of my friends already know or at least assume correctly that I haven't been exclusively interested in one gender for a while. Honestly it's something that I never wanted to make a huge fuss about but I know being more open and honest about it also helps others too so I feel a bit guilty for concealing it.

Sort of complicated answer but I've been part in/part out of the closet for 17 years. Choosing who to be out to is still a sort of subconscious math that I do, having grown up in a small midwestern town. I'm not flamboyant at all, and don't personally have interest in spending time in queer spaces, pride month stuff, etc. it's just a part of me. Among friends I talk about it openly, and if someone is being a shithead in public (after doing some safety math) I may out myself in a "fuck you" way. It's not a secret but I don't wear it on my sleeve in any case. I'm sure some people would disagree but my outward visibility as a bisexual white dude (who prefers women lol) isn't more valuable than my comfort and safety.

Thanx guys... As a skater i find it difficult to give the proper attention to people. Partners say things like leave the bloard at home and you skate too much or you only come around when your horny. If i had a skater bf all we would do is skate and make out at the spot when straight people are trying to get clips.

Sounds fun but is it enough? Its never enough. It would kill more than bigots comfort levels. Also my teeth are gross af. I look at myself im like damn im fucking hot but then i like smile im like damn this is why only like old girls looking for a side guy are perpetually throwing their ass at me. anyone who has dated a fellow skater... did they also get bummed when you wanted to have a solo sesh?

too many times i would get the cold shoulder at work (i know im a dummy for working w my partner but they got me the job) and after talking about it after work, he would just be upset that i didn't hit him up every single time i went out skating. i just need a soul skate a couple times a week. we're not together anymore, but thats the homie. still skate sometimes, but way less. caught them going thru my phone after returning from the bathroom, saw them put my phone down. when i opened it up it was on a random text convo, and my instagram DMs were open too. straight up said they didn't touch my phone. then broke down and admitted to snooping, but finding nothing. i was so crushed because everything was going so well otherwise. i had to cut it off, i know how that goes.

you ever love someone but know you can't because of their behavior? it's so bittersweet. i just can't accept someone who will lie to my face after telling me they loved me and started planning a lil life together. but we're super close otherwise.

i think an orchiectomy is the first major surgery i want to do. that or FFS, might hold off on that for a few years though to see what the hormones are capable of.
