Im curious to know what models people are into, and especially recent models. What has performed the best for you?
I had some era pros that were outstanding. Haven't had anything nearly as good lately.

The Marc's. Been skating them for a few months now. No holes, still holding up.

P-Rod 7's by far. I've skated other shit in the meantime but I always go back to these. Exceptional durability & comfort, lunarlon midsole for taking impact, plus they look good on your feet. not much else I can ask for out of a shoe outside of making a mid top version. I've skated the red ones, black ones, currently skating the grey tiger print ones, and will be skating either another black pair or the BReds after that. I got the white ones on deck just to chill in as well.

Really amazing shoes, They surprisingly lasted longer than any shoe I've had in recent memory including the G6 and the Alvarez. I have a pair with the rubber toe that I'm looking forward to skating.

I have skated a ton of different shoes (mostly mids) and without any hesitation whatsoever my 3 favorite of the past year have been:
Lakai Howard - Lo and Desert Boot. The XLK sole has to be one of the best (if not the best) sole on the market. The Lo is designed to fit snug to your foot, and the boardfeel is second to none. I don't think some vulc shoes feel this good.
Habitat Guru Hi. Vulc with outstanding feel, durability and functionality. The aesthetic of the shoe may not be for everyone, but it's a killer shoe.
Nike Hybred Boot - One of the most slept on. Koston 1 outsole, excellent comfort and durability.
All have been a perfect mix of fit, functionality and durability...I've purchased multiple pairs of each because I've liked them so much.
Of course it's all subjective, you're going to get many different answers in this thread.

KA-II - of all the cupsoles that say "the boardfeel of a vulc" this one actually does.
Adidas Buz ADV
Adidas Lucas - insane light and the sprint skin makes them thin, breathable, but doesnt blow out

prod 7's. i hate vucls so this works really well for me. the way the sole feels against my arch also helps. i wore em for about 2 months before skating them and their pretty awesome. i really wanna try the G6's or some of the newer DC models. im glad there a lot of cupsoles available now.

My Emerica Provosts ruled. Was a fan of my Busenitz vulcs as well, even though the grip didn't seem to last as long.

got a pair of the navy blue old schools from no comply and they are the bee's knees. They're not old school pros, just straight up old schools in all suede. Love em, never had a pair before, but I am going to buy another, can't beat em so far

Lakai Belmonts XLK, seriously the best fucking shoe. Ive been skating my pair for so long, and they didnt get floppy, suede and sole last forever, and the shape is great too.. And they dont hurt my feet. Lakai FTW

Me too, I wanted a cupsole because I'm having a little foot trouble and these are great. Other than that old skool pros and Era's.

I know the reactions for them are mixed, but i loved my pair of Chima pros. They lasted me for a good while. Other than those, the Linderos were some of the best shoes I've had in a while. I had a couple pairs of those.

do you size down your lucas? I really want to try them but i only skate shoes with a super snug fit, the toebox is way too roomy in my normal size, but half size down felt a tiny bit short

The first batch of lakai griffin from spring 13! the changed them slightly for fall and now the don't fit as good, might give them a go anyway because the green/blue I had were amazing

Really bummin on my Lucas shoes. I ordered my normal size nine and the heel is constantly slipping on them, no matter how tight I tie them.
Definitely get a half size down who ever asked
But I do live in Korea and some shoe sizes are fucked

i think its just a wider fitting shoe in the front. mine are the same way. i got use to it, but i dont like a super narrow shoe.

I went with my normal size and it's a bit wide in the front, but i like it that way. Felt a little weird at first, but after breaking it in, it felt really comfortable. Never had any problem with my heel slipping out at all, and I don't tie my shoes tight at all.

i dont see many people skating them either. i think most people who skate adidas go with the busenitz just because it looks cooler. i was in the shop look at some busenitz shoes and the guy working there said "hey, we just got these in. theyre really light." i picked them up and was shocked how light they were and thats honestly the reason i bought them. they might have been a few bucks cheeper than the buz too. i think theyre a pretty boring looking shoe, but performance wise theyre amazing. really glad i bought them.

Personally I think they're a very good looking shoe, with a look that's quite a bit different to a lot of shoes out there today (which is good in my opinion)
I can't find many on the cheap in the UK which is a pisser as I'm going to grab some more pairs when I see them on sale

Yeah, Puigs. I've skated other stuff and came back to my pair 3 or 4 times which I never do. Need to get those all black ones but can't afford the $80. Skated a lot of Spezials recently too.

Adidas Busenitz Vulc
Normally, I always skate Emericas. I've had tons of pairs, but decided to try something else and these are so rad. I love the Busenitz so far. I'd definitely recommend them.
I do wish that eS was still in business though. They made the best shoes, in my opinion.

I wear a 10.5 in the Adidas Puigs, OG Busenitzs and the Gonzs, but an 11 in the Busenitz vulcs if that helps.
which did you like better, the og busenitz or busenitz vulcs? i want to get a pair i feel the og ones would last way longer, but all i skate is thin vulc shoes, if the vulcs last just as long id probably jut get those.

DC Kremer S they fit a little snug, so if you have wider foot get half size up they fit nice not so long on the toe and wide got 10.5 feels like a 10.25 or something...

A lot of people are in favor of lakai. Good. Lakai needs more people backing it. Its one of the last skater owned brands.
Adidas puigs sound good too. Maybe Ill try a pair.

A friend of mine skated these religiously for about a year.
Try the Cambys, I'm skating them right now and they're really good. Holding up well for canvas, but I'd still go with suede if you can find em.

I skated the etnies marana in the late summer with gamechangers. That was the perfect shoe for me, that padding that etnies and emerica are using in the midsoles is great and the shape of the toe is perfect. I'm sure the rubber toe thing puts people off, but it grips the board and the flick feels really good.
I'm skating another pair of Busenitz pro's now and always like the toe and flick on them as well.
I skated the Busenitz pro in an 11, and the Puig in a 10.5. I agree I favor the Busenitz for it's arrow shape toe, and felt like the Puig toe was big. Plus I'm old and like the extra support of the Busenitz.
Have some BA's up next! Hope this midwest winter holds off so that I can skate them outside.

Got a pair of the Adidas Silas 2 at my local shop for 24$ love the way they skate nice and easy on the feet with nice flick and board feel. love the little ankle pads adidas puts in the shoes ;D

Still not 100% I like the runner toe when looking down at them though. Probably start to skate them in the next couple of weeks

Skating in the busenitz Vulc right now, they have lasted me longer than most shoes. A few months prior to that I had the og busenitz. I personally like the originals better, and I usually always skate vulcs, but the og's are awesome.

You'll be glad you walked around in them for a while. They're too stiff straight out the box, but once that midsole breaks in they skate so well

I was impressed with the DC Kalis Centric, they felt/skated amazingly. The only issue was that the sole went through slightly quicker than other cupsoles I have skated recently.
Currently skating the Guy XLK and it is just perfect. I've skated them a lot and the sole shows almost no wear, the boardfeel and toe shape are good and I've had no issues with them at all. Definitely sticking with XLK for my next shoe purchase.

damn those white centric's look awesome.. my local shop here in Guangzhou has em but only in royal blue..not really my style i'd maybe get em if they get on sale.

They reminded me of my first ever DCs the Rudy Johnsons... They skate really well, I'd guess the suede would be even better.
How close are you to the border? I may head up to China this weekend as I have a visa which will expire...

I'm vouching for the DC Mikey Taylor as the best shoe of recent years. Simple, really comfy, thin enough but by no means flimsy. Even when they been skated to death, they still maintain the form and support. The perfect fit for my foot.
I've had 3 pairs and I'm gonna stock up when my shop gets them again.

I'm skating the black with blue highlight. They're a little loose, but near perfect with footprint orthotic insole. I've been doing some magical shit with these lightweight badboys.

I think the G6's are a tad overhyped. The Vincent shoe, on the other hand, is easily the best shoe I've skated in years. Grippy, durable, fits my foot perfectly, and looks great.

How thin are the puigs? I really wanna try them, but I've also come to find that I'm not a big fan of feeling like there's a paper thin layer between my foot and the ground/board.
I found them to be thinner than I like on the upper, and I normally like fairly thin shoes. I was skating them in Scottish winter though so my feet were so fucking cold all the time that probably just about anything would have felt too thin. The sole didn't feel too thin at all though, it felt sturdy enough for sure. Hope this helps a bit.

theyre really thin, but they protect your feet enough from the board smashing into it if you fuck up flip tricks. they definitely dont feel as thin as they are. they have this kind of soft plastic material that lines them which makes them lighter and more durable than thick layers of suede and padding. its tough to explain, but if you pick one up at a shop and look inside youll see what im talking about.
I might have to try the Puigs since I like wide shoes that are light. Is the heel taller like on the OG Busenitz?
no. the sole is pretty flat. its a pretty normal feeling shoe beside the wider toe box.

I'm all over the place with shoes usually but am hooked on the BA's. The board feel is much better than I initially thought.
I changed the insole to the Jaws fp one, perfect shoe for an old guy.

DC Mo's and Lakai Manchester select.
DC Mo's broke in extremely fast, like 1 hour or something. Manchester took me a few days to get used to.

Currently skating the Converse KA-One Vulc with Lunarlon and GOD DAMN this shoe is incredible - it's just like the Trapasso II, but a bit more padded in the tongue and collar and with less stitching.

yes, they are sooo good. just beware that when the star logo blows off it allows the whole side seam to open up.

I don't know why Converse doesn't do the seamless heat logo thing like the ADV stripes or Koston 2 swoosh. The KA-II's have a recessed star logo thing, but it is still going to be the place where the shoe gets destroyed. It's frustrating that the shoes have such an obvious weak spot, especially when so good otherwise.

Busenitz vulcs. I wasn't too big of a fan when I got them, but the day they broke-in I couldn't have been happier. I would like to try a pair of Mike Mo's sometime soon after hearing some fantastic things about them as well. And besides the busenitz's, the Gonz slip is a heavy hitter in my book. Plain and simple, but performs extremely well. Only beef with this shoe is for the first two-three days the upper edge of the tongue digs into your foot but soon it loosens up and all is well

How long does the tread last on the Gonz? It seems kind of iffy just from looking at it

Campus vulc hi.....super good....suede is wearing nicely.....only complaint is I wish that one seam at the side didn't go all the way down.... Id rather have the toe all one piece....

I have the laced leo's with waxed suede right now and they're some of my favorite shoes I've skated; really good grip, good flick, and they're really durable for a thinner shoe

Busenitz Vulc... sole got a bald spot but damn they're good and grippy, and the toe is just amazing.

Has anyone ever skated a pair of Puma Suede's? I skated a regular pair of Adidas Sambas a couple years ago and really liked them, I imagine the Suede's would hold up a lot better because of the material.

Lucas' Adidas shoe is probably the best shoe I've ever skated.
This. I'm skating the Adidas Gonz right now and it's great, but Lucas' shoe is perfect.
I was skeptical about the soles on the gonz too because they seem pretty similar to the soles on the busenitz vulc (which suck) but I ended up getting around a month and a half out of them

Skate High and era pro. The Skate high is rad, affordable, classic, and will always be available. And that's what John Fitzgerald skates. Sold.n Now Vans just needs to make a black and white all suede skate high, make it a classic, and I'd be quite stoked.

Hows the insole on these? Being non-skate shoes i would imagine they dont have a good insole, but i really wanna skate a pair.

Been skating these Emerica Leo's for a while now, some of the best shoes I've had lately, really good suede and super grippy. noticed that they're pretty much the same type of silhouette as the Puma's
