I can re up the bootleg later tonight if you really want to see it
[close]

Please mirror it and release it as “mid90s - the switch stance cut”

It's uploading..slowly. I should have done that, but then I would've put in more work than Jonah did in this movie!

I’m excited to see Nakel’s raved about portrayal of a pro skater.   Heard he went full Daniel Day Lewis and actually worked for years as a professional skateboarder to help prepare for this role

Wow, how many cliches in the first ten minutes?

- The Ninja Turtle bed sheets.

- Street Fighter II t-shirt.

- Beavis and Butthead t-shirt.

I totally went into my brothers room after he beat me down to admire his Phillies hat, Blackhawks jersey, Air Jordans.

Souls of Mischief are sick, but 93 'til Infinity was released on, wait for it, September 28, 1993.

Super authentic, Jonah.

I just watched this and I think it was really good for a writing- and directorial debut. It won't win an Oscar but bearing in mind that it's like a fan-written movie for a first timer, Jonah delivered. It kinda made me wanna get a Girl board too so there's that.

Anyway, I'm glad it was made. I liked it.

Imagine how gayly awesome mid 00s would be.

It will just be about two white boys sitting in a room in their suburban town. One kid is in a Plan B tshirt playing Skate on an xbox 360 that's about to red ring. The other guy is glued to myspace while wearing a kr3w hoodie, he hates his dad because he says sound engineering is a dumb major to take in community college. The black guy voice of reason character that will appear in a few scenes explains that his life goal is to afford a trip to Barcelona by buying and reselling Nike Dunks and Bathing Ape on Ebay. They all lazily play games of s.k.a.t.e. sometimes and drink red bull and vodka. They are 3 or 4 years away from Mindfield so they don't realize that they can be gnarly skaters without moving to California. Oh and Bag of Suck is on constant repeat in their circles, no one's a vegan yet, and the black dude gets mad when people say WWE is better than TNA.

And the credits roll

What year is it supposed to be set?

also agree with the cliches in the intro...so terrible...not to mention most skate clicks in the 90s would not have been so chill when a new dude shows up to skate.

Sidenote: What child let alone a teenager was watching tmnt in the mid 90s? WTF that craze was over by 1991.
[close]

I watched a little of it in kindergarten around 96, but it seemed a little outdated compared to power rangers
Outdated? Bitch, Power Rangers was a weak TMNT knock off.

Can't wait for MID 80'S when the lead actor wears a Hogans Alley tshirt you couldn't find a kid not wearing a Hogan's Alley tee back in 86.

I was wondering the same...it has to be at least 1995/96 because of the chocolate shirt and the anti hero sticker on the skate shop door. If I remember right, in the beginning shop scene they are watching video days? Of course a classic but I just remember being hyped on shit like 20 shot and 411s at that time.

If I had to guess, the crew watching Video Days is a nod to Kids.

Also things weren't as zeitgeist-y until the internet was everywhere, so what was popular lingered for a while. For example, I didn't completely ditch ninja turtles when power rangers came out. I was also playing NES just as much as I was Genesis up until the N64 came out. Shit overlapped a bit more.

After finally watching it, I'd give it a 2/10 at best. Jonah wrote a terribly strung together fanfiction that loosely follows what he thinks it'd be like to be able to kickflip in 1996.

Nak was the saving grace that got me through that wasted hour and a bit of my life, he's got potential to go far in acting if he wants to.

don't know how old you are but you're dead wrong. Things were even more Zeitgeisty back then considering culture was taken from Television and Radio where the people have no control of what media they're consuming so everyone was into something at the exact same time as everyone else unlike the internet where the user has control of when and what they listen to or watch. Once a trend was over pre-internet everyone was over it and onto the next thing.

You were just playing with NES because parents were mad back then because they just bought their kids a console and a couple years later a new one comes out some parents flat out refused to upgrade thinking it was a big scam which is why you still had NES games being made in the mid-90s even though 98 percent of children had moved onto newer consoles.

Ninja Turtle cartoons were still being made until 96 even though the TMNT craze peaked in 1990 and quickly declined after that but like I said new episodes were being made during the whole power rangers craze but it was red sky TMNT which was different from the late 80s-early 90s TMNT cartoon even though it was technically the same show it was extremely different. it didn't even have shredder!

ps: the Genesis came out in 89 it isn't much older than the NES
