We all know who owns World... but who owns the other companies, shoe companies and stuff like that? I really don't care that much but it will be interesting to see where our stuff comes from and educate  the little kids and old guys like me.

I met the high graders at ASR. I was stoked on their stuff because it's run by skaters.

Damn! 80% of those companies are owned by skaters (pros and former pros). That's pretty cool, I guess. Beats working at McDonald's anyways.

Vox Ed Dominick (Photographer, ex head at Maple & 88)

at my school vox is the pro-choice lesbo club.  thier slogan is "voices of reason".  quite possibly the worst idea for a skate company name since 88.

Wrong, amigo!

Brian Jones used a Vox teardrop for all your favorite early Stones songs. I know, cuz I have one (because of him). They're probably best known for that guitar and their 12 string models.

i think the shoe company Avia owns NSS.  Which would explain how they have managed to stay in business for over 10 years despite never having one skater actually buy their shoes.

i have the best "good post" to "shitty post" ratio

Heheh, close, but no cigar.  Try http://www.vfc.com/sub_pages/our_brands.php

As far as I know, the Hill brothers are still head honchos at Dwindle/Globe and own a large stake in the company, although shares are publicly traded alright.
Adidas-Salomon bought a large stake in Cliche in the early 00s which was sold on to some Finnish investment company as far as I know.

Amer Sports that is. They have their hands in all kind of sports nowadays. Thought they might pull the plug on Cliché in no time if it looks like things aren't working out. They've done it to other things they own too.

Buy - doesn't work - shut it down.

Vox also made this one in bass, 6 and 12 string versions.  Ian Curtis of Joy Division used to play them.

If it hasn't been posted already:
