Well i was thinking about this thread for a while, why not make a thread to talk about other shoes that arent for skating. Running shoes, B-ball shoes, lifestyle shoes, whatever... I bet there are guys here that are truly sneakerheads and love all shoes like me.
Now i'm in love with these ones, Reebok fury lite triple black.

you can really tell that silas borrowed heavily from the zx line when he designed his first shoe (might post a straight comparison pic later).

I'm not rich, i'm a student living with parents money so i dont have many shoes like i want. Mainly i have skate shoes but now i'm trying to buy more chillers (sales are always a bless). Now my current one is the Free OG.

these roshe slips are so fuckin good. Just a really comfortable, lightweight shoe you can just slip on and go but still have all the support of a sneaker. Have worn these more than any other shoe I owe since I've gotten them. I'm getting a little tired of the roshe silhouette (see them everywhere) but those slip ons look great and really comfy.
Just out of curiosity, that circle in the "tongue" is for what? just aesthetics?

yeah pretty much. they are a really dope shoe for just walking around, day-to-day stuff. extremely lightweight & breathable but that all phylon sole more than supports you. my one real complaint is that the tread is kinda soft & shallow. granted I've worn & walked around in these for hours upon hours but still...havent had any issues as far as a loss of traction or anything but the lifespan of the shoe will probably depend on how that sole holds up. Still, for $75 bucks, it's a great shoe that will get put to use if you own them. its a fucking steal if you get them on sale

Moving away from basketball shoes/jordans and now I feel dumb for spending money on them. I realized the only Jordans I really like are 1s, 3s, 4s, and 11s. Mostly 1s though.
Side note, if anyone wears a size 12 and wants some Jordans, PM me. I'm selling what I have left for pretty cheap.

I love air maxes, all the models till the 95's... My favourites are the 93's! That sock booty (whatever its called) and the reminiscent huarache design is killer. I'm a full fan of Frees now but my favourites are the OG's or the 2's. The nike free trail is awesome too, i think @Tuque has a pair, beautiful shoe.
Adidas has some nice designs too. Some tubulars look good but i'm getting really tired of the zx flux thing, i see them in every person here... The classics are always great tho. My girl has some Racer Lites and they look great (I'm trying to get her in the game ahahah).

^ word I've been liking a lot of the newer adidas shit lately. those tubulars look dope. I WOULD fuck with those Yeezy Boost Low's if they weren't stupidly overpriced and hard to find.
but I feel you on that overbuying shit tho internet daddy. I'm fond of my jordans but I am kinda salty for OD'ing during my skytop 3 phase. The pairs I've skated and the red/black colorway i have were all solid purchases, but the other 3-4 pairs I copped make me (http://www.thecoli.com/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/sadcam.png) in retrospect. also copped like 4 pairs of the SW1's on sale way back too, but nowadays I only wear the grey pair. Like with sneakers I'm more picky because usually they cost more and aren't on sale as much, but with skate shoes theres always so many crazy deals on the web, you get caught in that "its too good not pass up" mode acting like you saving money when you probably wouldn't even get the shit if it weren't on sale in the first place, lol.

you sir, have good taste in shoes ;) they (the zx710s) make your feet feel a little big, but really if you wore tech shoes in the late 90's, you could easily wear these.
I actually have a pair of of silas' in that exact colour that I only bring out for special occasions. the quality/ design is top notch and they are a dream to skate in. not sure why adidas didn't run with it for a few more seasons (or even rerelease it?), he would make bank off that shoe in 2015 :o

Comfy as hell, it's actually second pair of them. Wore my first ones so much, I retired them.
Got them a month or so ago, still haven't worn them tho. Got a lot of other shoes I wear regularly.
Plus, they were $39 at Foot Locker. Some Adidas outlet's sell them for like $29,.

And Tate i was with my eyes in some Sl loops lately too, they look great and fairly cheap!
Those flyknit 3's look pretty dope, better than the 2's IMO... The Pure Boosts look comfy as hell but the new Ultra boost is just killer (the 180 euros price tag not so much tho)!

"Smart" usually refers to a piece of clothing that is very versatile and can be worn in a lot of different situations, made to look dressy or casual, depending on what it's paired with. For instance classic pair of good fitting jeans, grey dress slacks, a white dress shirt, etc.

I pretty much just wear the normal Old Skools as my non skate shoes for just chilling and life.
I used to ball exclusively in Iversons Now I just play in whatever is cheapest but still has good support I currently don't have a pair though.

In England smart shoes are the the best shoes you own, which depending on the person differs greatly. For example the shoes that I think are my smart shoes are some black leather Clarks brogues with slippy leather soles (not that comfortable and dangerous in the wet), that get worn to interviews for permanent jobs and the one wedding I went to.

Can anyone recommend some decent shoes for standing/walking all day? I've really only worn Vans my entire life or boots to work in. Just something cheap and comfy, that's pretty low-key? Not all tech and sporty or euro looking. Those grey Nikes posted earlier look pretty sick, but are probably expensive and maybe for running? I have no fucking clue. Do these even exist?

You can get some Roshe's. They arent that expensive and are pretty low-key with no bells or whistles, really comfy too. Try some black and white that goes well with everything.

they're a little on the hefty side pricewise, but god damn boost technology is the closest we as humans have gotten to walking on clouds.

Air max 1 is never whack man. A timeless design/shoe that never go wrong. I love them!

There's more people interested in shoes than i thought here in Portugal. A friend of mine add me to a portuguese facebook group where they talk about shoes in general and there are about 5000 people in there... We dont have like big stores around here and people order most stuff from other countrys. People around here are more into classic runners, like Asics, NB, and some Nike and Adidas, The ronnie fieg stuff, etc...
Basketball was never o big thing around here so Jordan Brand and Nike Basketball are things i dont see too often, and when i see they are usually high priced so people dont care that much about them i guess. There's a sneaker shop in the mall i usually go that has some Jordans and Basket Nike's but they hardly sell from what i see. I've seen Foamposites, Jordan 5/7's, Nike Kobe's all collecting dust because people dont care about them... I'm not a really into it too so i dont know if they are actually some valuable editions.

Damn InternetDaddy! That's an interesting collab. I not really a fan of the colorway but the idea/concept is fucking killer.
I only have seen 1 pair of these shoes in my life and it was in some ugly full bright orange... They looked like an orange but it was nice to see the design so close and they really look comfy and quality. They are for sure eye-catching!

The last ones, XII, look pretty mellow. The swoosh on the side looks like shit, the placement is bad IMO.
Kobe's are other that i think that the current model isnt as good as the past one... XI's, either lows or highs look way better than the X's.
X's are such a boring model, the flyknit ones are a little better tho.
Actually i'm liking more of the aesthetics of the last adidas models. D Lillard's look dope, J Wall's arent that bad and the new D Rose 6 pics i've seen look like it will be a great shoe!

The Huarache Utility definitely looks sick, I just saw a post about them too! The all black ones are super nice. Europe actually gets a lot of really good runners before the US, or just exclusively altogether. Huarache NMs have been out in EU for a while, but are just starting to pop up here. I don't think the Huarache lights have been available here at all, but I know they are out over there in several colorways. Also the (admittedly weird and kind of ugly IMO) cork and velvet infrared AM90s dropped in europe way before they showed up on US shelves, i remember on the sneakers subreddit some guy in poland was buying pairs and shipping them to americans.

I was at the Nike Outlet past week and it was full of Huarache lites haha... I've seen Corks AM90's everywere, and the janoskies are poping out too, i almost puke when i see them (Out of curiosity, Portugal is actually the worlds major producer of cork).
I know EU gets lots of good stuff first, brands do lots of goods collabs with shops over here but Portugal doesnt get any of that stuff since we dont have any big shops in the country, just major releases are released here basically. We need to order special releases from the outside.

I wear New Balance 993's and every version before it for the last 12 years. I put memory foam insoles in them, high quality ones, not dr scholls.
They are made in america and are not cheap here is Canada but they last a very long time and come in grey. Besides the grey they are too sporty for me, but I absolutely can not get through a work day without them.
In the winter I wear docs with the same memory insoles from the NB's.
If i could give any young skaters advice it would be only wear skate shoes when skating and get good shoes when you are not.

95% of sneakerheads will think those kind of NB's are trash/dad shoes, which i disagree... My favourite ones are the 991's. With good colorways they can look great and i bet the quality is top notch.

I just got a new pair of Nike Pegasus 30s from an outlet store for $49.99. They are super comfy but are in a deep blue that goes with nothing that I own.
It's strange but I don't think this colorway was released during the "official" lifespan of the shoe. I don't know if they are from a new run or a straight-to-outlet model. I do believe that neither the 31 or the 32 was as widely well liked as the 30 (mainly for the30's cushioning attributes).

I didnt knew this brand but i like the concept behind it. Not everyone can afford quality products because they are often overpriced. That being said i do think that design looks a bit outdated... I know it's a 15 dollar shoe but they could release something more appealing.

Seeing a lot of runners/trainers in here, i've started walking more and wanted a shoe with more support then the ctas i stomp around in, i've talked mucho shit on Globe in the upcoming shoes thread but saw their roam lyte runner thing for cheap and figure it's gotta be better than cons at least for short walks, i don't wanna spend hundreds on a walking shoe but wanted some opinion on these

Etnies Scouts and Nike Roshe are both super comfy! You can wear either all day no problem. I picked up some Emerica Reynolds Cruiser LT's and hate them. Light but no comfort. The Globes you posted looks like the sole is similar to the Roshe, so it's probably comfortable. If they were cheap enough I'd perhaps sport a pair.

support is decent but swapping the insole is necessary since the one that comes with them is bullshit. they fit like a glove and are super flexy though.

Paco, Boost is pretty great in terms of comfort. As long as Kanye hasn't worn them, they come up cheap on the 'Bay or outlets pretty regularly and Adidas is slowly finding ways to make it look less hideous.

Yeah i like gonz ZX too. And i usually hate the regular ZX flux model! The changes they done to it make them much good looking IMO.
Then i dont really fuck with those koston/janoski's air max's, there are some cool colorways but i would rather buy some classic air maxes.

Cool to see the Asics love. Their motion control runner The Evolution was all i could wear when not skating due to hip/knee/back problems, but they don't make it anymore unfortunately. Someone posted back like 5 years ago before this thread existed and told me to get some 'native' boots and rock them with some super thick socks. Warmest shits EVER and light as fuck! Don't know how they'd handle a foot of snow but I've worn them at like -2 and my feet were still toasty. Not the most fashionable boots on the planet but the price is right. I ended up getting the chocolate brown ones.
edit: I'm talking the style "fitzsimmons" and wouldn't be caught dead in any other shoe by this brand :o

Whats your defenition of looking good? I like Air Maxes, old/new running sillhuetes, but would you? My advice would be to get some Nike Free Shoes, the most confortable shoes i own! (go to a nike outlet, they usually have a bunch of them for cheap) But if you like more of a skate looking shoe go for the Lite series of Vans, all the classic models but with a lightweight and comfy sole.

Adidas ultra boost are the most comfortable shoe I've ever had, and I've had a lot. You should be able to pick up last seasons colourways in the the sale.

Doesnt the new ones have a redesigned sole? With some continental tire stuff and a diferent "bumps"? The Adidas store at the mall has both but they are at the same price still, was hoping for a price drop. Ultra Boosts are one of the best Adidas silhouettes in years, just too pricey for my pocket.

I tried on the vans classic lites, but no good. Air maxes are nice depending on the model. I have flyknit lunar 1's (so comfy) but I am looking for something more casual you know? Flyknits and Ultraboosts are cool and look comfy, but they're so expensive and I'm not sure that I could wear that type of shoe all the time. I've been thinking about blazers and just swapping the insoles for something for supportive and comfortable.

You can also get the trainerendor, from Nike sb... They were originaly from the ACG line so they are not a skate a shoe as they have a rugged outsole. Pretty clean design, and fairly cheap, a friend of mine swears by them:

Free ace's are dope. People been sleeping on that silhouette heavily. Better than most adidas tubulars that have been coming out.
Been rocking those Clarks desert boots that my girl gave me as christmas gift. First "man boots" i've had, usually I go with runners/skate shoes but i really dig the look of those boots with some raw denim jeans.
They do have a odd fit, i had to go 1 full size down (althrough they are 1,5 cm smaller than i usually use) and i think i could go down another half.

Yup. Never tried the 1's but these are nice. Really comfy and supportive. Plus you can just go to footlocker and buy them. No sneakerhead tomfoolery.

got these for work, on my feet all day and they work like a charm. Best thing I've done for my feet, back and knees.
The most comfortable shoes for being on your feet all day are the fresh foam ones, I used to work in a warehouse 4 12 hour shifts in a row loading trucks and these were the only thing I could wear that wouldnt make me need to lay in bed and recover for all 3 of my days off.

Look at the sole of the Gazelle and compare it to the Campus or Shell(which both have the same sole) and you will realize why the Campus and Shell were favored more so that that of the Gazelle in the 90's.

im glad i found this thread... i really, really like the OG suede gazelles, bought a lot of them back in like 2007/08 off zappos for so cheap. seemed like you could get them online most places for like 60 bucks or so.. so what happened with the price? i can't find them for less than 100 anywhere now, and it seems like they are far less available now. did they discontinue them or something? that shoe is so dear to my heart. i want to feel like jed from love child at least one more time in my little life.
I think they are being vamped up as an alternative to the stan smith in the fashion world, which may have something to do with it

Today i was at a adidas store and they had some gazelles for 100 euros which is too fucking much for that shoe. I would rather get some samba's or spezials... One thing I never liked about gazelles is how shallower the tread pattern is, but other than that they are sick.

Today I'm going to the outlet see if I find some gems on the Nike store. They had some huarache's internacional for the low low as i was told. That silhouette is really cool, if i like them on feet I may get them. They also got the air cruz for 35euros (crazy), but i dont like that shoe that much...
I also got there some airmax 95's for my girl like 2 months ago for 27euros (in a really nice colorway), which is crazy low here (the retail price is 180!). I'm kinda jeaulous of her honestly!
They have a puma, Reebok and asics store on the outlet but the price's arent that low... nike and converse ones are the best.

Air Icarus, OG colorway and only pair there. 60 euros, not that bad. They even came with custom arch supports to put under the insoles. The fit on those is insanely perfect and I love the retro runner look. Stoked.

Yep, the red with grey. I usually avoid red like the plague but they were very x2 clean! Yeah, both the grid I got and the 9000 are synth and thus super tight/ probably won't stretch that much. The 9000 also looks a lot bulkier on foot imo. Either way I'm more than stoked with my decision and the fit on these is ... to quote you "insanely perfect". Nice catch with the Icarus. As you know I'm not a nike fanboy but they are definitely era specific; looks like they are straight out of a Windows 95 launch party :D
edit: I was also looking at some reebok gl 6000s and I'd basically narrowed down to them and the grids. The heel lock on the reeboks was fucking vice but for overall comfort the sauconys won!

Yeah i think you did better with chosing the sauconys, they arent as usual to see on someone's feet.
I'm really happy with those Icarus. The fit is not large at all but its not tight to the point of hurting the toes, and with the arch inserts they are even better. Its just perfect for my feet. I wish i had a skate shoe that had a fit like this. And they turn heads too! Bill gates is stoked! ;D

lucky find, wanted these so bad but will never pay the resale these are going at. i was in europe when these first came out and had a hard time finding an adidas originals stpre, and when i finally got to the barcelona one the only size left was a 13. adidas has been killing it for a good while now, wanted a pair of these as well but didn't want to drop the 200.

The hype going with those NMD's is surreal... I see people buying lots of them here in Portugal just to resell and that's not common at all in here. People lining up in front of the stores and shit, pretty crazy. They're the shoe of the moment.
I had some of the mesh ones in the hand the other day and thought that they felt kinda cheap. The primeknit ones look a whole new level better. Adidas really did a great job hyping up those. Those OG's are actually my favourites along with the R1 Primeknit in Yellow/Gold.
I probably will never get them tho...

I've done Vans and a friend has done New Balance. Those came out with the typical quality level you'd expect as well.

Try the Huf sotos if you can. I thought the infinity rubber was a gimmick, but these shoes have lasted about five months now (my norm is a month for vans).

I had some nike free OG's and they are one of my all time faves. Light and comfy, can be stylish too. The asics are comfy but kinda dated on the feet heaven departement.
If you want to be walking on clouds buy something with a boost sole. There's this new shoe coming out, called the iniki that is a cool crossover between new and old style:

They have the one in the middle that is an 90's upper with a boost outsole and feels amazing. You can probably find some pairs on sale from the past season, my friend got one and is in love.
Also there's this new NB that's came out recently called the 247 that looks like a dope chiller:

They look really premium but dont cost as much as the premium NB's... There's two more colors of this version then its coming out 4 more in a mesh upper that is probably cheaper.

I know they are dropping on 1st march in Europe. Probably the same in the US. The price is 119 euros so around 120usd I would say.

I've been wearing nothing but different kinds of leather boots since I got my motorcycle cause it's just convenient for not getting burnt and shit, I take it going skating too so.. Those look great though, I've found those kinds of chelseas to have super stiff soles, are those alright?

Adidas Alphabounce is the best shoe for the money that most hypebeasts won't buy first. If you can get NMDs, those are the overall best for a little more. Adidas just dropped a bunch this past weekend and I ended up splurging on three pairs. No regrets. Boost is bae.

honestly i've worn them maybe two or three times. they're not that great, not really comfortable, i haven't tried to skate them. but yeah they are pretty stiff.

Those look sick. I just got a pair of black primeknit busenitz boosts on sale for 65. Boost is so comfortable, perfect for after skating. If it weren't so unstable it would be really good as the midsole of some skate shoes.

Those crazylight boost must be really good confort wise since they are performance shoes. I was really stocked with the design features of them when they were released, it was a breath of fresh air in the adidas BBall stuff.
This last summer I've been in a Adizero running vibe. I have 3 pairs of the Adios Boost 3, this Black/Orange, White/Blue/Red and Blue/Mint. (they run really narrow so I would go halfsize up on these at least).
They feel soooo good and are so breathable, you also have the good boost feeling but more stable than an ultra or pureboost that can feel too wobbly sometimes. The design is pretty classic aswell which I really like.

after looking at the shoe for a bit i ended up not liking the silhouette that much.....walked into a footlocker a couple weeks back and they had a sale on the adidas ultra boost- got the basic black with a white sole and love them!

With the lockdow I started going hiking around with my family because it's the only thing we can do here without many people around.
Im looking for some recommendations for a comfy Trail/hiking low profile shoe. I like the NB Hiero V5 and some Adidas Terrex but I need some pals advice to spend my money wisely.

I’ve never tried the 990s. Are they as supportive as the tiagos?

Although they’re considered retros and old tech, a dedicated runner is going to have more support than a flat soled skate sneaker.

I used to lift weights and casually wear Vibram Five Fingers (the "toe shoes") back in like 2013 and I fucking loved them. My feet felt incredible but I eventually stopped wearing them because they were so fugly.
Having a bit of renaissance with barefoot shoes now there are 100x more options. Started with some cheap Chinese Whitins to be sure I wanted to do this again. Now I have some Wildlings and some Splays ordered. Enjoying relearning how to walk and run once again.
