Let me ask you this: At what age did you start thinking "Man, I'm getting old"?
It seems like people I've skated with start saying this in their late 20s. I'm 46 and feel pretty creaky, but then I see guys in their 50s getting busy so now I'm confused. What is old?!? Do we all just eventually get to a point where we just can't skate anymore or will it be one long Girl nursing home skit?
-
Read the title and thought someone found my secret vids. So, just glad this wasn't my latest footage
-
Dude WTF you are destroying it. Super impressive-and jealous of your spots.

I started arround 1988.
I don't care about next generations, I just wanna skate.
To feel better maybe you have do some compensatory sport, good warm up, stretch a lot, eat less and healthy: no sugar, no alcohol, no smoke... I know, is not easy, but is possible.

godlike fit with the DBZ goku shirt
where are you from dude? amazing spots and you are a true skate lord

This.
I’m 44 in a few days and I feel great. There are so many IG accounts by physical therapists/trainers with great mobility, speed, and stretching. Also, I’ve seen the end of so many good skaters here because they hit the bars all the time and by late 20s it will catch up and they just think it’s being old is why they feel like shit skating.
Stretching is great but if you don’t have good mobility and do some light/med weight training it will be harder to keep skating at the level you want.
Also, I’ve got a 2 yr old so I stay in shape for her because I’m always picking her up, etc and don’t need to have a hurt back to keep me from skating.

Forgot to add your part was sick as hell.
-
More footage than Gino has dropped in a decade. Really good. Ender was amazing.
-
Too good. Better than a lot of pros who are still milking it beyond their 30s.
-
Wow. Impressive. Keep going. If this is you now, when was your peak performance?
-
Still jumping on the handrails. Very sick part. The ender was wild.
-
That level of skating at 45 is absolutely fucking amazing.

The main site is Mallorca, but there is footage from other Spain places. Covid helps us to skate "new" spots.
-

Peak performace was at 15 year old, at 21 and 25. Maybe 15 - 25 is the best... 35 the worst and now, with 45 I'm very close to 25, maybe the main differences is stairs, gaps was 9 stairs when was 25, 4 stairs when was 35 and now 6 - 7 stairs. On technical tricks now is better than ever BUT, I need at least 30 minutes warm up.
-
Die young!
Whole thing was good, beautiful ender.
-
That was incredible. All those mid 30s guys already complaining about getting old need to see this.
-
That fucked my head up. I need to start taking better care of myself fr
-
Dude that was bonkers. I'm 48 now and actually feel as good on the board as ever. The main difference is that I just can't take slams anymore, which definitely limits how risky I get. I spend a lot of time skating curbs, flatground, mellow banks - not because I'm not capable of more, but just because if I slam I'm out for like a month and that's too long to not be able to skate at all.
But you're out there skating like you have no fear of injury. That vid got me hyped. Much respect.
-
Super props. Im in the mid 40's club but I'm too lazy and scared to attempt to push myself hard anymore.
-
That part was really good, not just really good for 45 years old, like proper good for skater of any age.
Much respect for going that hard. Inspirational!
-
The nollie flip down the double set was clean. Ender would be a legit trick in any pros part! Fuck I need to start running again
-
Inspirational for me, thank you for sharing this. While watching I suddenly realized that a person can die young at any age.
-
Guy Mariano is 45 years old
I though this was going to be his 45 years old “Guy part.”
-
Holy shit
-
Amazing part !
Great to see Tenerife spots in there !
Really impressive and inspirational !!
-
this was genuinely sick as fuck. the song had me tripping but at the end i was vibing!! incredible.
has there ever been a more legit part by someone his age? a lot of that stuff was top notch for any part
-
so sick! gives old guys like me hope for the future!
-
Fuck yeah!!! I love this! You are a bad ass and hit the spots super strong. Maaan, this is such an inspiration! Bravo :)
-
Killer!
-
so great to see that. the nollie flip down a double set is crazy
-
I dont understand, why were you not good at 35, but now good at 45? just because you werent skating / making poor life choices?
I am 35 and skating some of the best i ever have because i am finally making some better choices as well.
-
That was awesome
-
that was fucking sick. loved it. keep it up.

All I know is you stop saying it around 35 when it’s no longer an interesting thought but just life. From then on it’s gravy, just get what you can before the dirt nap. It’s all good.

I definitely feel the age (35), but I stop telling myself and other than I'm old. You're only as old as you feel and I stop using age as an excuse for my behavior.

I am 35 and skating some of the best i ever have because i am finally making some better choices as well.
Hell yeah, I've progressed more in the 2 years in my 30s than in my 20s. I take better care of myself, know when to quit and am more thoughtful about my sessions.

backlip-backtail was good!

Agreed 100, so sick!

Dude
Amazing

Yoo this was amazing. Lots of cool spots and dope trick selection.

I turned 32 last November, and I feel like I just entered my prime. But there are some downsides for sure. If I get hurt, or skate way too much, Im definitely not skating the next day. Another downside is that I cant really skate ''right out of the box'' and for sure need some time to warm up, maybe 15-20 minutes and Im good. But as far as skills go, I feel at my absolute best right now, most consistent, I can think about skating more in depth and imagine tricks and foot position way more. Ive been skating for maybe 18-19 years, and have been hurt only once (broke my leg 6 years ago). Other then that, Ive been pretty lucky and never had a long break.
But I can for sure feel, that next couple years are key, I need to keep skating and keep myself fit as much as possible, because I know that if I had a break right now, for a couple months, It would come back way harder than when I was 20-25.
Anyway, props to the guy in the videopart and everybody who shreds after 40, fuck yeah. I look forward to be the oldest dude at the spot.

This weekend, still with 45 I filmed first trick of new part and seems around 2025 a new part "48-49 years old guy" will be released.
Thank you for all your comments, I really appreciated. Keep pushing.

First of all, hell yeah to skating to Dio. Secondly, keep getting it man. Super inspirational stuff. That late shuv of the bump was sick! After tearing my ACL and having three kids, I had to put skating on the back burner. Now my knee is good to go and I’ve been trying to skate as often as possible, more than when I was a teenager with no responsibilities. Watching stuff like this just shows you skateboarding is the fountain of youth
-
Very impressive! Thank you for sharing. What an ender!

Why not go for the ultimate "Fuck you I'm fifty" part that'll blow everyone's minds.
But really, you indeed are ripping, so much different shit. You look very comfortable on your board.
I'm also about to turn 45 and while I still feel good on my board, no bad injuries, haven't put on weight etc, I'm starting to hold back as in not taking risks, like someone else here said as well. I don't want to do that but it comes naturally. I feel like my trick selection slims down a notch every year. More and more tricks move out of my comfort zone.
