I guess yesterday was the 25th anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death. Kind of a trip, because that makes me feel really old (I was in high school)... and I've been listening to Nirvana a little bit lately, specifically Bleach and In Utero.

What trips me out about listening to this album now is how raw, angry and loud it is for what was considered a mainstream rock album. I mean, compare it to Maroon 5 or Greta Van Fleet or whatever is considered major-label rock and roll these days. Steve Albini produced this one perfectly, so that helped.

The record industry were between a rock and a hard place for a short time dealing with the short lived grunge era. ^thats still not the version of the record kurt wanted released (but he was told to redo the fucker). Nirvana wrote awsome pop music and were infuenced by bands who were generally more original.
Today i listened to "Hillbilly highway" by steve earle 5 times anyway. Also a sick live set of him from 91 at macabes on yt. (Edit i bought Bleach the month it dropped)

Does anyone else remember hearing that Temple of the dog song or a cover of it in a powell video, whose part was it ? asking for a friend called Roger haha

edit : an Adam McNatt part I think, or maybe the vid intro with the big tricks
