this guy is old(skate standards).. he doesnt skate gaps or rails (but ironically he doesnt have ledge or manny skills either)rocket flips to the moon... but he gets away with it because he has supernatural pop. No one can front on that switch tailslide. Maybe its not even his pop that gets me hyped, watching him reminds you of that home town skater who isnt particularly talented on any aspect of skating but skates with a heart of gold, hes the guy you actually want to get footage cause you know he works his ass of for it, i dont know why im writting so much about this guy. Maybe its because i have been waiting on this part for so long.. im feeling him though hes sick and im glad he is getting hooked up

he doesnt get away with anything, he looks like a person on a skateboard, although i will admit that switch tail is insane
-
you guys are trippin. Like his style or not, that part was tight
-
no that part really wasnt very good. horrible editing, bad song, bad style. quite possibly one of the worst video parts in history.
-
i agree bad song and horrible editing but i like the guy
-
Yeah that Famous part was pretty tight, I can't wait to see the new stuff he's got for Get Familiar.
-
that was his get familar part
-
i find it funny when guest tricks kill all the tricks in the actual skaters part.
-
know what the worst part is.. Chris Hall gave that dude soooo much opportunity to actually do something with skateboarding. Still in all, Harper comes up with a 2 minute long music video. In my opinion, Smolik barely pulled it off in Guilty way back in the day. He was even at the top of his game back then. What made Harper think he could pull it off? Some people never learn..With that said, I'll still give credit where it's due, and that switch tail was pretty good.

i'm just curious how you're gonna be 'hard' riding for a company owned by travis barker
-
the same way sheffey rode for companies owned by mike carroll, mike ternasky, and rick howard

you mean quit like a bitch and hide from the world?
-
I think his part is different and is a breath of fresh air. That switch 180 piv grind was bananas. He was on that too. Switch tail was nice too.
-
yeah yeah on the switch tail, its good.
but he looks worse than chris lambert does on a skateboard
-
hes got pop but no power so everything looks sketchy.
-
the only way you can hate this guy is if you take skateboarding way too seriously.....i guess i cant say that im a huge fan but its defenitely entertaining to watch......hes good and it makes me laugh at the same time the video where hes talking about he 'i want to get known for this skateing shit but at the same time i want people to know me as a street nigga' is funny too
-
yeah sorry, usually when i want to laugh i dont watch shitty skateboarding
-
sounds like boy band rap
-
shit was good to me . that switch 5-0 is fucking crazy

Yep, I agree. I found it entertaining. Having said that, skaters should never, ever try to dance or rap in their video parts and expect to get away with it.
-
it's entertaining in the same way r.kelly videos are entertaining. "is this for real? this is so cheesy. this is terrible. guy can sing though."

yeah itd be cool if he was singing all the tricks that he was doing like R kelly does in 'trapped in the closet'
-

You know you like that gayderek footage though.

disgusting
-
Not all of his shit was sketchy, a lot of it was pretty damn smooth. The switch shoves look fuckin sick and the switch 180 nosegrind was ridiculous.
-
liked it.
-
the skating in that part was way better than the things i've seen from him before both trick and style wise. i had heard so much negative stuff about the part before actually seeing it that i expected it to suck when it actually was pretty good. having said that, the music video thing was obviously wack as hell and should never be done. never.
-
can't believe that part got enders in the vid. What was chris hall thinking making it a rap video. That guy (harper) has no variety. He can do a few basic ledge tricks, and some basic switch flip tricks. Is he still on element?

basic tricks with insane pop, dude is sick
-
That part wasn't nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be. His style isnt the greatest (THAT'S obvious), but there are people with worst styles out there.
-
r kelly "sex weed" is the best song ever.

did you watch that video at all? everyone leading up to his part deserved it more than he did. chris hall posts on here and i think we should just directly ask him why on earth he would not only give that person a part but why he would let him make it the most horrendously edited and thought out musicvideopart ever.
-
liked it.
me too, switch tail at pulaski was nuts, switch heel over that baracade? dam!, i didnt hear the music to it though, i watched it at a skate shop and the volume was turned down.
-
I just don't understand how you can hate on that pop. His style may not be refined, but it is unique and raw. Noone can accuse him of fakin the funk, thats for sure. Whatever, people seem to either love or hate this guy. Either way, all the press is good for his career.
-

good reason to like him

i agree.. i saw james craigs part and it was good music and a good edit, it just doesnt seem like the same editor would go from james part to a shitty music video........

darren harper isnt pro, no legit company will turn him pro anytime soon. i like to pretend sometimes that ive never seen any skate videos ever. when i was first starting to skate, i would watch any and every footage of skating i could, i just liked to see different skating. every once in awhile a part will come out that you cant compare any other previuos part to, not because its so good, because its so unique. i was optimistic when i first viewed this part and i enjoyed it, it was something no one really does without being todd falcon or simon woodstock(no disrespect to simon). and it made me want to skate over shit

HaHaHa!!! That is fucking hilarious, I listened to that song all summer and laughed my ass off every time."Sex gave me the munchies, now I wanna eat it up, oh".
