Thinkin of going Ventures or Thunders if I end up goin to a 8.75 or bigger. I almost have a feeling I'll still like my 8.5 indys even on a 8.75. When i get some new wood I'll post my set up.

Meant to say this before, love that shorty's sticker!! haha Looks like a fun one, jealous of those spits, though I'd prefer a smaller size. The SML wheels I'm running are fun, but maybe too slippy.

Haha, yeah I've had the deck sitting around and with all those other stickers on it for a while. Pullled it out, slapped it up with some shalom, and I've never felt better.

A setup with vague descriptions drives me crazy.
Width? Size of trucks and wheels? Type of urethane and shape?

I'm from the US. I bought a globe board because I had some Amazon reward points after Christmas. It was the cheapest/reliable option I found at 20-something bucks. It's just a dwindle board. Same R7 construction as their other brands. I don't hate dwindle wood, and the shape is reliable

Ok

This is rude of me: are you allergic to skate shops?

wheels, bearings, hardware all came from a skate shop. I wanted Destructo trucks & No shop sells them, plus I had gift card money. The globe deck, I bought after Christmas, when I was broke. After buying plane tickets to Canada, spending Christmas in Michigan and getting my water line replaced. I bought a cheap board with my Amazon points so I'd have a spare in case there was another emergency. There was actually a different deck sitting in my shopping cart, but someone else bought it.

The skate shop I liked closed last year. The skate shop near my house doesn't carry shit I like. They don't sell es or any sole tech shoes. Nike, Adidas, Vans and a few pair of Lakai. They have a long-standing beef with DGK. They think birdhouse is whack. Never seen anything from theories there. I saw one hookups board there before and it wasn't my size. I'm just mentioning brands I like. They only carry indy and thunder. The shop as a whole is mostly DLX with other random decks sprinkled in. DLX is solid product sure but I'm not that big of a fan of their brands. Their shop decks are steep, with a huge nose. I skate my boards backward and that completely fucks up the feel. So that's not an option for a cheap board. I'm not gonna just buy what's on the shelf if it's not what I'm in to.

A nice SHALOM would really bring the board together nicely.  Interested to hear about the destructos.

I like them, also not a truck nerd. I’m also bias, if you look at my old setups they’re mostly destructo. Definitely better than Indy. I’ve enjoyed my time on ace but these are lighter and slightly shorter which I prefer.

Thanks! Was skating these Indy’s for like 5 years and realized both front and back was making a really annoying screech when rolling even with good bearings. Feels good to have something solid again

Twin Tail X2

Last summer I was skating a slick version of the 8.3 Twin Tail and loved it.  After I retired it I could only find a non-slick version (the peachy one).  It was right before snow hit so I have only skated it 2 or 3 times (with the Mini Logo / 53mm setup). When the new drop came out and there was a slick in it I ordered it up, even though I didn't need it yet.   Moved those trucks over to the new board and then set up the older one.

Left one:
Ishod 8.3 Twin Tail Slick
Mini Logo 8.38 with Krux kingpin, Bones medium, Riptide pivot cups
Bones STF V2 53mm
Daddies Ceramic bearings
Jessup
Indy hardware
Mini Logo 1/10 rubber riser.

Daddies bearings were really sweet the first few times out, but aren't rolling as fast.  Should probably get more swiss.

Right one:
Ishod 8.3 Twin Tail
Indy Stage 7 146 with Krux kingpin and Indy aftermarket blue bushings
Bones STF V5 55mm
Bones Swiss 6
Jessup
Doomsayers hardware

I haven't skated the Indys with these bushings yet.  They were a yard-sale find and I am just getting them set up again.  If I like them I also found a set of stage 6 146s - same geometry, different baseplate.

Can any of you dudes that have had a lot of polars shed some light on them for me, thinking about having the shop order a 8.25 nick boserio deck but was looking for a little info on shape and concave that I haven’t been about to really see any top photos. I had a polar deck a few years ago and I wasn’t into it but the nick shapes seem a little better, I just wanted to be sure I wanted it before asking a shop to special order it

Polar as of late is medium concave with steep kicks. Usually short wheelbase too.

It's the only shape I've ridden for awhile. I don't find it too particularly steep. I'm about to retire one and try out the new Ishod twin tail 8.25 but will for sure go back to it at some point.

Shop had two B16s and they were both only in this graphic, decided to snag both.
Baker 8.475
Indy 149s
Bones STFs 54mm. Had a set of spitfire classics which I was digging but they shrunk down too quick, was considering milking a few more sessions out of em but then decided to set up these STFs I had lying around at the last minute.
Random assortment of bearings, shields popped
Jessup
Shortys 1 inch allen
OG black and white half cabs

Wanted to try something a bit different from my last board (8.5 BDK Habitat).

Shape wise, this is what I would consider a standard popsicle with "normal" kicks and a medium concave, whereas the Habitat had incredibly square/blunted nose and tail (giant nose, smallish tail) with very steep kicks. It was nice for a bit, but recently I've not been enjoying it. Through the course of skating that board, I also discovered that 151s have just a bit too much truck for me, and went back down to 149s.

8.38 Toy Machine (PS Stix)
Thunder 149 Team Editions with stock bushings that I keep meaning to swap out for Bones Mediums.

Currently riding:

8.25 DGK logo deck (white)
Indy 139mm trucks
Bones STF
Bones red bearings
Grizzly tape
Suede vans

Sorry about the vague-ish description - I'll edit the details and a picture later.

I came from - 15 years ago though - a 7.75 deck (Element) and the difference feels immense.
While I'm still at a beginner stage, I'm having more issues flipping the board.

Was wondering if you guys could suggest a good deck/brand for street or overall flip tricks.
I'm also considering trying an 8.0 deck, I could perhaps use my old 7.75 deck trucks on it.

Gold Roadstars. Woulda preferred some silver joints with the axel protectors but those were all I could find at the time.
