Andrew Gordon was so good, what a natural. Rowley got stoked on him from a sequence , kickflip back lip maybe,  in  a Concrete Powder ?

this is sick. any more footage of him?

cale nuske could've been one of the best, his bon appetit part was so good. i think he was another one plagued by injury though

Angel Ramirez had a bunch of great little kid parts, but we never got a full grown man part from him which was disappointing because he ripped.
Angel killed it! Wish we got more from him. Here are a couple full grown man parts that are definitely ill, I watch these parts pretty regularly

Devin Appelo has some of the most insane stuff in the creature video. Loved the guy’s approach.

I always loved Pat Rakestraw too, though I feel he had a bit of a limited skill set and maybe his Reason To Believe / Back In Black was the best he had in him.
I'm going to argue that Placebo owes their entire career to a Canadian dude's skate video part. Appleyard should be getting royalties for this shit.

Andrew Gordon was amazing, unfortunately his family had a history of mental illness that ended up affecting him. he said the meds he was required to take made it really hard for him to skate properly. at one point he was living at a shelter, but still kinda ripping. i hope hes doing well

If only Jscott Handsdown received the $100,000 from his gofundme. Who knows what ground breaking video parts he could've put out

Surprised to see this name, I used to watch him in awe at cheapskates. Him, JR Neves (RIP), and Jared Weiner belong in this thread.

tabaias walker - never really took off after moving to cali

laban - never really put together that one part that cemented his legacy

post virtual reality rick howard - he's a legend yes, but could he have given more?

natas - sidelined by injuries, he had so much more to give...

My point exactly. Nothing he's done in the ten years since this part has come close to matching the speed, power, and trick selection he's clearly capable of.

..but that's more like saying he did live up to his potential, but he just hasnt sustained that level of skating since

Angel Ramirez was fucking terrible and absolutely deserved to get sacked when he did. I can't wait to see what other mediocre skaters from that era are thought of as "legends" solely for existing.

Herman's another great answer, as is Scott Kane. Not quite the same, but I wonder what Bastien would have produced if his career wasn't sidetracked by politics and injuries.

A good rule of thumb is that if you put out your best footage when you were flow/an am, you did not live up to your potential.

With that being said, anyone who puts "Busenitz" and "overrated" in the same sentence is, indeed, an asshole.

Is anyone else partial to his 1st Real part tho? I dont think hes outdone that personally. But hes certainly not overrated.

I’m surprised no one said Dave Bachinsky. Dude kickflipped the most legendary set in skateboarding in 2006. Still the only flip trick down the thing besides jaws stupid kick flip grab. Everyone knew that name for a bit and he just kinda faded into obscurity. I know he’s still around but rides for fucking darkstar now.

I didn’t think in 2006 the dude who kickflipped el toro would be on darkstar in 2019.

Richie Belton!!! Dude turned into a huge scum bag. Imagine if he didn’t spend a majority of his life hung over. I was leaving the bar the other night and my friend had a 12 pack and he was practically begging for a beer. Was all like “dude you WONT give me one of those beers. Prove me wrong dude”

Tim Ø Connor.

Herman is a great answer, his career had an extremely strong and promising start. Stay Gold is a fucking fantastic part, the benches but being one of my most watched skate clips I’m sure. However all in all, even at that stage in his career he seems to be playing it safe somewhat. That nollie tre though. Holy hell. Baker 3 was his seminal part, He wasn’t am then though was he? I’m sure he was a rookie pro?

Richie Belton’s best part is overlooked because it was a 411 part when it was dying and releasing videos numbered 14.6 or whatever. Has a banger of a 360 Flip in it.

Conhuir Lynn . Amazing skater, let down by knees I think. One of my favs.

Antennna Dixon. Baker 3.  Baker has a Deathwish. Deathwish Summer tour video. Jail. Nothing motanke since, although I’m glad I get to see some new footage of him on Instagram.

Ragdoll for sure. His Slaughterhouse part was his third major part and his absolute best. Then when Pig Wood disintegrated as we all knew it would he got on Birdhouse- one ad. Then gone. Hurt Life guest model? Personal favourite who I always wish had more output and coverage.

Yes, a thousand times yes to Dave Bachinsky being on darkstar in 2018/19. But then again, maybe it pays well and people just have this idea that Darkstar is a bad place to be because they aren’t a cool company.

I'm going to argue that Placebo owes their entire career to a Canadian dude's skate video part. Appleyard should be getting royalties for this shit.

Sounds like a gimp. It's funny, if he had of got on Baker after his Adio part he probably still could of been milking it.

Joey Poiriez ripped as a kid but we never really got to see his full potential as an adult.

Because He Died

I'm aware of that, but I'm talking about the time between his younger skating days and death. If you check out his instagram it seems like he was still getting flowed boards but nothing ever came of it. He tore his ACL as well but not sure when.
