I have to go with Shane's switch flip back tail, switch back 360 heel out. hard to comprehend the dismount...let alone switch flipping into it...
-
best and hardest are 2 different things no?
-
Anytime Tom Knox skates a ledge

Bob Burnquist's "Dreamland": A Backyard Progression (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSnfO15cAHE#)

really the first thing that popped into my head. i really couldnt believe that when i saw it. literally mind blowing. he also has a 360 flip noseslide bs 360 heelflip out in the middle of a ledge. i really want to say something from TX or creager but i think that tops everything.
also, Tiago Lemos has some basic tricks on super high shit for long distances.
-
That combo Eric Koston did in the credits of Menikmati
-
This could be a good thread...(^Already mentioned) At the time Koston's combo grinds at the end of Menikmati always tripped me out...and at the end of his Mouse part...sw flip sw front crook...Guy has way too many to mention Mouse, Fully Flared, Pretty Sweet...Guys fakie fs h/c flip to pointer grind in Chocolate Tour...Daewon with the noseblut switch bs nose blunt combos that Marc Johnson did in Fully Flared...I'm sure Smolik has some untouchable ones same with Lucas Puig...and PJ, maybe 5-0 kick flip 5-0. Carroll kick flip hurricane and bs smith ollie impossible out.
Templeton impossible noseblunt
Daewon's hard flip front blunt (might be on a curb, does that count?)
Gino's super fast switch backside 180 to bs nose grind is one of the illist shit of all time for sure.
As of lately been really hyped on Prod's switch front blunt switch heel out. Wade Desarmo's nollie pop shuv bs nosgrind bs 180 out, and oddly enough Shane Heyl's h/c crook nollie laser heel out was pretty crazy.
-
Gino nollie 180 switch back nose grind shove out on a La table in trilogy
Ronnie Creager back tail double flip out
Mariano swith front shove to back nose grind fakie heelflip out
Danny Montoya switch pop shove nose grind fakie flip (mariano curb trick from plan b)
Peter Smolik had a bunch of good stuff and Wenning Switch flip tail 3 shove out
Coery kennedy Kickflip back noseblunt big sin out
-
Sewa bigflip back tail bigflip out
Shane O'Neill has a bunch, b/s flip sw front heel out in the middle of a ledge etc (?!?!)
-
Puig-switch back tail inward heel in Something Sinister
maybe any ledge trick Javier Sarimento does
Brian Peacock- fakie nosegrind 360 flip in Captians Attatck
-
Idk about hardest but Piscopo did a frontside bluntslide impossible out in his Chronicles 2 part which really stuck with me.
-
ender at the navy yard. see also something from PJ's ouvre [did i spell that right?].

Not sure if he ever made it but Stevie Williams had a rad idea with the hardflip backside nosegrind revert
-
Just watched the Danny cerezini Manolo tape edit. So many incredible ledge tricks, I'd go with that nollieflip front blunt, or that kickflip downward dog noseslide thingy.
-
Wenning's fakie 5-0 front shuv out and switch back tail 3 shuv outs and jordan trahan's pop shuv back 5-0s/pop shuv back 50 on a table
-
Cory's backtail-kickflip-backtail
Welsh's- 270 cab-fakie noseblunt-nollie bs 270 out at pier 7
Shane has to many but his chronicles ender of switch flip-back tail-270 bs heel out is probably the craziest
and if we are including ledge tricks where you gap out Yoshi Tannenbaum's backtail-kickflip to fakie is absolutely nuts or Bobby DeKeyzer's tricks at Bickford in his DC part.
-
Morgan Smith sw flip backsmith b/s flip out
OR
Felipe's 3flip crook on the picnic table :o

Stenger, all fucking day.
That whole clip is fucking ILL, but whenever I think of "best" trick on a ledge, that 2nd to last trick immediately springs to mind.
Done on a huge block, and he makes it look so, so effortless. Dude was as natural as they come.
Some other part of his he's got a 5-0 360 flip out that is straight bananas.
-
Not sure if he ever made it but Stevie Williams had a rad idea with the hardflip backside nosegrind revert
ol chetty thomas and ryan gallant usedta do that trick 10 at a time for a dime!

i can't remember what gallant video but i've seen him do em too.
-
I always liked Gallant's kickflip front nosegrind shove-it out where he gaps a solid 10 feet or so from the ledge for no reason in his Alone part. It's not the hardest or the best but it was real nice.

!!!
When I first saw that, my brain oozed out of my ears.
-
how has this thread got this far with no mention of PJ and his wonderfull horrible life part..
The entire part is the best ledge trick of all time
-
I forgot Lucas with the nollie fs flip fakie 5-0 back to regular in the macba is mordor clip. so sick

Almost forgot, Steve Durante switch 360 flip front 5-0
edit: almost forgot nearly every ledge trick Steve Durante has ever done. I mean, switch back tail heel out? switch back lip front shuv out? with the best style?
tim o's first 3 clips in inhabitants too

Fuck, don't know how I forgot these two.
I always thought both of these tricks were fucking gnarly (the ride down the stairs on the krooks!!!), then I saw the spot in person and it somehow made the tricks unbelievable/made me question reality. I am 5'10" and it's over my hips. How he even looked at this ledge and thought it was skateable is beyond me.

i know it's subjective but wade D has done those with equally amazing style. also Javier put down probably the illest switch 360 flip 5-0 in history.
Javier, Lucas, Shane, Wade, TX, Daewon and Creager have basically shut down every ledge trick in one way or another

Shane O'neill: Sw flip bs tail bs 270 heelflip, fakie front crook Rick flip out, nollie bs heel nosegrind switch heelflip out, bs bigspin fakie 5-0 half cab flip out, bs 180 nosegrind sw 360 flip out, 360 flip noseslide nollie bs 270 heel out.
Sewa: Hardflip bs nosegrind front foot lip out, varial heelflip bs crooked varial heel out
Mike Mo: fakie front crook 360 flip out. To my knowledge this one still hasn't been done by anyone else, and Fully Flared came out over 8 years ago.
Cody McEntire: Sw 360 flip fs nosegrind pop out on the middle of the ledge
Trent McClung: flip fs crook nollie heel out, bs 180 fakie 5-0 fs half cab flip out.
There are way more, but these are all that come my to mind at the moment

Best : Gino, backtail at Blackrock.
Hardest : Daewon, fakie tre to back noseblunt, out forwards (its on a curb though).
Sorry in advance, I'm old.

There is a ledge in Madrid that steps down to another ledge, can't say who did it but I've seen the footage and it's the best ledge trick I've ever seen: sw flip back tail, sw front shuv to sw back tail to forward. Everything especially the second sw back tail is done long and perfect.
Pj: back five o front shuv five o
Eric martinac: sw varies heel sw bk nose grind flip out
Shane Oneill: big spin fakie five o half cab flip
Koston: backside 180 fakie five o half cab flip out
Wade desarmo: backside flip fakie five o revert
Kalis: sw big spin back tail at macba

All impressed me muchly. I'm sure there are countless tricks I haven't seen that are on the same level as well.
My personal favourite ledge tricks are Lucas Puig's f/s bluntslide kickflip out to regular in Bon Appetit, AVE's f/s bluntslide around the curved ledge in the Mindfield extras, and Gino's last trick in Trilogy as well as the nollie 270 switch tailslide in Mouse.

Not necessarily the most beautiful, but has anyone ever done an inward heel to fs crooks?
Edit: Or hardflip crooks? Seems pretty shitty because of the over rotation needed.
Edit Edit: Blaah, hardflip crooks is ugly as hell.
-
By no means the hardest but I always thought the b/s noseblunt , nollie heel back tail line at the beginning of Hermans baker 3 part was just impeccably good looking.
-
Mark Suciu did a fakie bs 5-0 frontside halfcab flip out. That one is hard as fuck every step of the way. People barely do fakie backside 5-0's at all.

Chris Cole's backside 180 nosegrind switch bigspin heel out, first trick in ride the sky. I 100% couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it.
-
This may not be the hardest/best/whatever but it's the first thing that popped into my head. When I first saw it my jaw was on the floor. I had to re watch it over and over. Thought he was going to flip into a another back lip and still can't believe he flipped it to a back noseblunt.

P-Rod: Nollie late flip crooked in Me, Myself and I
Shane: bs 180 Nosegrind switch tre
Cole: bs 270 to fs tailslide varial flip/270 flip out, frontside bluntslide kickflip to fakie nosegrind (Both in his Cole
lite 2 part), and fakie switch back noseblunt fakie tre from Ride the Sky
Haslam: Front noseslide bigspin to switch 5-0 pop out
Lem: Nollie heel back noseblunt pop out to fakie
Albert Nyburg: Fakie switch back nose blunslide fakie fs flip out in the middle

PRods sw back smith tre.... in the park but still fucked up

pat duffy's bigspin flip to back tail down that hubba. that happened right? if not then either his 360 flip to tailslide or 360 flip to noseblunt down that yellow ledge of pleasure.
me and my friend always talked about ollieing onto a long ledge w/ a needle and shooting up, catching a nod [still grinding] and popping out clean. to the best of my knowledge it's never been attempted nonetheless landed but someone w/ good veins could prolly land it.

Kind of surprised no one skates the cowboy hat anymore. It is just sitting in a park outside Seattle. Looked it up recently and seems like a mellow enough park where you can get away with it.

it was near seatac in the late 90s or early 00s when i went there. you had to climb up a piece of wood like a bridge or a piece of fence post. whatever jimmyrigged ladder and then it was perfect slant banks but hard to push at cause you had to go around the center.

Does Jerry's sw back bluntslide gap out in Bag of Suck count as a ledge trick? Technically its a ledge, it just happens to have a massive drop at the end.
Mike Mo's ender in Pretty Sweet was decent, nollie back heel sw crooks I think?
Guys ender in Mouse sw pop shuvit bs crook.
Reynolds nosegrinding the stage in Baker 3, because I always found that weird in amongst clips of him jumping down stairs.
