i was thinking about the origins of skate companies names the other day, and thought the LE inspiration was pretty funny. i would have to say that the only tom cruise movie i enjoy is top gun, and if a company had a name referencing that movie, i'd be stoked to support it.

it makes me wonder if zero was ripping off the smashing pumpkins, i'm aware that the logo came from that assholes shirt in toy story. not to say anything negatively about zero, i love zero, not so much the current zero but everything up to dying to live was great. mystery is a detroit rock city reference and death wish is the title of the epic bronson movies.

what other companies have put little to no thought into their names?

admittedly when zero 1st came out the timing wasn't good (i owned one the 1st zero shirts back in the day and EVERYONE thought it ws smashing pumpkins) but i always thought he got it from zero sophisto, which was a clothing company he used to ride for? kinda like underworld element/ element connection

Apparently this company is nothing compared to what it could have been. Rumor is, some heavy hitters were willing to quit their respective sponsors to ride for LE. The only name i can officially say is David Gonzalez. But things never quite got rolling as fast and efficiently as they should have because the big bossman himself, Nick Trappasso, is 100% on another planet and that my friends, is bad for business. The dude has done so many drugs that he can barely speak english, if he's even speaking at all, just living in his own world.

So this goes without saying, best of luck to these dudes and Sinner seems ambitious which is sick but his partner in crime is an absolute vegetable. And since this thread began, Nick has dropped that many more tabs of acid.

I don't know about Zero Sophisto or whatever, but Zero originally started out as a clothing company through Tum Yeto and then Jamie Left Toy to make it a board company. As for Element, I think they just dropped the "Underworld" and changed art direction, but I'm not sure why.
