Too Loose Style
« on: March 30, 2021, 10:59:20 PM »
I was skating today and I saw a kid with a style similar to Le’Andre Sanders (skategoat) and I wanted to figure out what about his style I strongly disliked, and I think it’s that their trucks are too loose? Like don’t get me wrong they can land some gnarly shit but when they land they don’t tic tac but the board shifts all over the place with their feet. Anyone else dislike this kinda style?

For me, it comes off as contrived. Nothing but forced "check me out, I'm a limp noodle" shit. Regardless of how much talent they may have, it almost always comes off as a conscious effort.

The early 2000's was pretty tight trucks era. I started skating then so that is the style I love.

Guy Mariano in the early / mid 90s was so great. He’d land an incredible trick and then his body would go completely limp. I always figured it was from all the weed and exertion.
