Was feeling a bit bored of my regular popsicle. Looking forward to trying this. Wanted to cop 161s but the 151s seem to fit well enough. Not sure how I’ll go with the symmetrical given trucks are quite broken in.

9.5 Heroin egg
151 thunders
56mm f4 S.L.A.G classic swirls
Blurs ceramics
Assorted grip scraps

Sweet setup man.
Can i hassle you for a top pic?
It looks very popsicle from this perspective.

No worries

Polar 9" Surf sr shape if I recall correctly.
Socket griptape and hardware
Ace classics 55
Pig risers
Nomad ABEC 5

according to polars website, two bigger shapes changed:

1992
9.2" (Widest Point) X 32"
Nose: 6.85"
Wheel Base: 14.3"
Tail: 6.65"

DANE 1
9.75” (Widest Point) X 31.3”
Nose: 6.4”
Wheel Base: 14.375”
Tail: 6.5”

used to be 14.25 and 14.125wb respectively
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

Glad I have two Dane 1s (with the 14.125 WB) on ice.

I like to think they upped the WB to compete with the Gonz Sweatpants shape. Because the dims are going to be basically identical now.

Maybe Dane designed for Indy and now is on Ace?

Didn’t have any trick on Dane 1 in You Guys are Crushing It, so maybe he’s over Dane 1. I’m not, love my Dane w 169s. Maybe I’ll run my ace 55s on my next Dane 1.

Finally got around to setting up this Black Label board I picked up last year.
Normally when setting up a 9", the question is 159s or 169s. But, when I measured, its 8.5" where the axles sit, so I put on some 149s. Forged hollow.
54 F4 99 classics.
So far, it's a lot of fun and I can see myself picking up another of these boards when this one is done.

I’m not usually a fan of yellow veneers, but this one is an exception with that top graphic. Black Label Jason Adams curb shark, 9” x 14.5” wb.

I downsized from a 9” x 15” wb. It took a few sessions to get used to, but I’m really enjoying it now. The shorter wheelbase really livened up the Aces

Yeah, that one is the exception that proves the point. Looking good.
I kinda botched a grip job on a yellow top a while back. I didn’t have anything but a short sheet of shop grip, and because I was eager to go skate I made a 90’s vert gap in the grip, and only partially managed to cut off the logo. Ugh. I’m regripping it full black sometime this week.

Dude at the park this morning had an Anti Hero Raney Beres Big Bord https://calsk8.com/products/anti-hero-skateboards-raney-beres-big-bord-big-boys-spoof-pre-book?_pos=1&_sid=d652d5ca3&_ss=r. Got to spend some time on it and absolutely loved it. Fun and comfy as hell for transition, smaller ledges, curbs. For reference I'm a giant and currently skate an orange eagle.

The Big Bord is 10.125" wide with a 15.25" wheelbase and it felt sooooo good. Now I want one, only problems: hate the punk point, and hate the graphic. Been looking everywhere for similar shape and dims, and the closest I can find is the Black Label Lucero cross, only problem is it's sold out everywhere. Any ideas on something similar? Really liked the eggy shape with the fuller tail.

Anti Hero green giant maybe?

I've tried a Winkowsky and didn't dig the weird concave and tail shape, board felt strangely short for a 15"WB.

Grosso maybe? Loooooong but not as wide though, and just kind of looks like a popsicle with square kicks.

For the more accessible boards that you can get again and again, the green giant might be the best one, given you are already familiar with the wood and concave, which stays nice and wide right the way through, fits 169s well, good nose and tail, etc.

I have one and it is huge, so you would definitely enjoy it.

As to others, the Grosso shape tapers a lot, down under 8.5 in the tail so that is often a little detail that makes people not really comfortable on them when they think about the initial 9.25 width.

Black Label are the same wood too (BBS) and more likely to be around some places more than others, given there is a more simple grass roots distribution of their product, but at least to check their online shop for sizes and shapes, then even ask if any shops have ordered any of those boards, either from their contact page or other social media.

https://www.blacklabelskates.com/

I have a few different Label boards and although often not as long overall, they still work really well if you don't mind a decent wheelbase 15" on a more regular length 32 something, while still having a good shape and comfortable concave.

The Lucero Van and Street Thing shape are the most common in that size, but the Lucero cross is definitely even bigger and more beastly than everything else.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Yeah, was definitely looking at some of the Black Labels, shipping from stateside is almost as much as a second deck. There's a shop in Vancouver with a street thing, tempted to give that a try. Rollin in Quebec has a couple green giants on sale, but I'm always leery of sale decks being warped.

Great info, thanks!

Doesn’t Skull Skates mostly do 15 or larger on their bigger boards? Seeing as you’re talking about shops in Van, hit up the Hot Shop and they can sort you out

Hmm, I do like some of their shapes for sure, and long wheelbases! Hadn't given Skull much thought in years.

I get their boards on and off, if I can find a deal on them.
Loving my 10-inch egg with the 14.5 wheelbase that they do in a lot of graphics.

But if you’re looking for a longer wheelbase a la the Raney, there’s this with 16 inches.

Or if that’s not enough, there’s a 17 inch wb here

It looks like most/all Welcome boards on pressed by BBS. The one you posted in the link is definitely BBS.
