Hottest girls I ever met on travels were from Denmark. Plus snus is from Scaninavia so they an A+
Never cared to visit, too expensive plus all the cool Scandinavians leave their home country for something better. Exclude Norway because they're real earners

And you are from where?
There is good stuff happening elsewhere in the world you know...
You are talking about whole countries. Its not like Scandinavia is a tiny village in the mountains.

Reading this thread is getting me so stoked! I'm heading over to Europe for summer and I'll be going all over Scandinavia in July/August.
I'm going with a mate who doesn't skate but I'll get a sesh in here and there. Probably going to skip Iceland and see a bit of Russia instead (St Petersburg, Moscow, Minsk etc).

Kiruna is way north...

Most of the captials are around the 60th degree, and doesn't have as extreme day/night cycles as Kiruna.

You try too hard bro, sit back and try to to have a good time. other wise what's the point?

The conversation is about how scandinavia is stupidly expensive, and the winters are bleek. Both are undeniably true, yet the Scandos feel they have to ignore the facts

No its not. Kiruna is just a super tiny ass place thats a 10 hour drive up north from civilization, and it starts to thin out a couple of hours before that..

If I were to go here in the summer, I'd hit up the capitals first of all. Hit up Oslo and shit real quick but I wouldnt stay too long, its so expensive there its fucking regular. Even compared to Sweden, Finland and Denmark. Then hit up Swedens west coast in the south for some beaches and chillin, then head over to Stockholm on the eastern side too.

From there you can take a cruise over to Helsinki for relatively cheap. Spend the night on a big boat, gamble a little and eat good food. You can take the car on there with you for an extra fee too if you drive around in a rented one.

Then after that just go back another day with another boat and drive down to Denmark. None of these countries are wide so driving between them doesnt take too long. Denmark are just all around mellow as fuck and not that big so you cant really go wrong driving around there.

Hey, been lurking on here for a few years but thought this thread might be worth posting in.

I have moved over to Sweden for a while from Australia. I have spent the last few weeks living in Karlstad and visited Stockholm for a few days. I am now in Gothenburg waiting for a the connecting train to Malmo where I plan on living.

Give me a shout out if anyone is in the Malmo/ Copenhagen area and would be keen for a sesh. Any tips for living here such as spots, cheap eats and bars etc would also be much appreciated!

http://skatemalmo.se/ has been a good hook-up for info so far.

I will be crashing at a friends house until I find something more permanent but if anyone has any hook-ups for rooms that would also be appreciated.

Tack.

A specific question for the norwegian heads:
would it be a terrible mistake to go to Norway and don't hit the Lofoten?
In case could you suggest places alike south of Trondheim?
I'm considering going with a friend and it's going to be roughly little more than 10 days. Landing in Oslo. Thanks!

Definitely not. It really depends on what kind of trip you want. I guess you want to hit up some hiking stuff?
Or are you coming for skating?

It's definitely going to be a hiking trip. Bringing a board would be a pain in the ass I think.
I'm  asking because we're not going to reach Cape North for sure, and the Lofoten are pretty fucking far too, but I'd make the effort if it's mindblowing you know.
It's all hypothetical but better ask in advance, just in case.

Yap, if youre into hiking or climbing lofoten is definitely a place to hit. Like people been saying, the scenery is mindblowing. Sharp mountain peaks raising straight from the sea and multiple peaks forming small islands and scenery just seems to get more beautifull after every mountain you hike up. Id say that god won desining award for greating lofotens.
Im from Finland, but been working there for couple summer seasons and heading back there for this summer. I had my skateboard with me last summer and after couple weeks i ditched my hard wheels and ordered soft cruiser wheels and just zig zagged around harbors and bombd steeps hills. So not much of a place for skateboarding but totally in top 5 for hiking and number one for scenery. Oh and by the way, you can also find good surf from lofotens too.

Beer is still fucking expensive, so as a finn, i still wonder what makes me go back there.

I love Denmark and Sweden, especially Stockholm. Haven't been to the rest yet, but Iceland seems pretty cool.

Then you should go for sure! It's not too expensive to get there from Oslo either. Bring a tent if you can. Cape North is not even that exciting, don't bother.
