I'm pretty sure he was asked to ride for Habitat and Girl but didn't do it because they wanted him to change clothing sponsors to four star and something else. He wanted to stay on Volcom because they had supported him for so long. point of the story - he was faithful to everyone that had helped him.

Knew him personally. Such a good guy. Amazing to see him make it all the way to the top.
Very talented and kind hearted.
