HOLY SHIT. I got an email from a dude who I used to skate with back in 90'-91'. I lost contact with him after I graduated and moved away for a while. Anyway, he tracked me down and sent me an email just now. It turns out that his dad owns/lives at the farm directly across the street from my house. He says that in his dads barn has a perfect mini-ramp in it. here is his description of it:

"My ramp is 18 ft wide, 4 foot tall. It has 6 foot deep rollout decks, I built it into the barn, using the structure of the barn to the ramps advantage so it's sturdy as hell. We used steam pipe for the coping, slides like crazy. The top layer is masonite. It's pretty strong but doesn't do well with moisture, very fast. It's advantage is that it's cheap. Oh yea, and I diagonal plied the top layer so you don't get bumpiest going over the seems."
Holy shit, I'm stoked. He wants to get together this wednesday and clean it up and skate. I guess he got married, had kids, quit skating for a while.... now he wants to get back in the game. To think that I never knew that there was a ramp in the barn that I look at every day. This is good news for my skating this winter.
On a strange note, I have no recollection of the guy. None. In my first response to his email I fessed up and told him I didn't remember who he was. He then replied back and rambled off all these things we used to do and skate together. I was too embarrased that I couldn't remember him and just played it like I know who he is. It's killing me that I can't remember. Kids... don't do LSD. I swear that shit ruined my memory. I hope I remember him when I see him. It's been over 15 years!
