I don't think he was trying hard. He's consistent and stylish. I love watching people skate like that. That's not fake

I turned the audio on about a minute in and I totally hate whoever put that song over this beautiful skating. He's one of the very very very select group of people whose skating looks just as good filmed like this. Most people owe a lot to their filmer but Austyn looks good on security cam.
If you think his style is fake or forced or not natural then just how good do you think he is to skate like that AND put on a show while doing it? Get your heads out of your asses.

I think his style is amazing but he does force it a little bit, little slow motion after landing. Again i'm not a part of the all or nothing movement. I'd say his style is 90% great and 10% contrived.

I def got those fake steez vibes that people speak of, mainly just on rollaways and like little kickturns on ramps right after tricks. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't try to look cool and graceful sometimes, too!

seen him skate LES around 2012 manny mania contest- dude went fast as hell all through the park and barely did tricks but a switch fs 180 on flat that was above waist high and i totally could not tell his stance anymore after seing him skate in person!
one of the greats right now and one of my favourite styles

Damn, that one was on point as well. They both did it in a similar way; the spin isn’t “flat” if that makes senses. I think it’s the way they actually pop out, compared to those who just kind of pivot out of em where it pretty much doesn’t count.

He lands pretty soft on his board and is just cruising and he shows it. I don’t see it as forcing style. Some people take any flavor added as a crime against the art, but then rail against everyone else for having no personality in their skating or for being to robotic.

Agreed. He has a unique style with very interesting trick selection/variations, he skates very fast and commits fully to everything. People on here sound like total bitches. Jealousy maybe?

I remember seeing Karl Watson doing that nose slide 270 ages ago and I was thinking that it shouldn't look as good as it did.. Then I thought well, it is Karl Watson?

If I could turn back time... I did these good but as a dork trick.
The key is popping out just like a k grind while being ready to rotate at the same time(shoulders turning prior)
Still a fuckin horrible trick but its fun

The filming was not good.
Austyn's skating was and is so much fun to watch. I do wonder about guys like Austyn that are so deep into the skinny pants look and how they will react as the baggy pants revolution progresses.
