fuck i just rewatched the last 15 minutes, how the fuck did Dexter get in Trinitys trunk? When did he get in the trunk? at the auto shop? When did Trinity go and kill Rita?

next seasons going to interesting at the beginning atleast. trinity's family knows who dexter is, so when they find out that dexters wife was killed by trinity they are going to ask questions as to why he was a part of it. his family will find out and explain how he was going by a different name and befriending them and the whole buisiness with attacking trinity and that. quinn will definitely be a part of it because of the whole beer him and dexter had. i dont know. im glad that wife is dead, makes me wish trinity knew me and my girlfriend.

i would be really dissapointed in this ending if throughout the season they had displayed that the writing/story was heading downhill into unrealistic sensationalistic bs like the shitty show weeds has become. But they didn't, this was the most interesting and well written season since season 1, and without killing off someone major the show would have become too formulaic, dexter is introduced to antagonist, dexter befriends and then entrusts antagonist against harry's advise, antagonist shows true colors so now dexter must kill him/her.

Not really a knock on the show, but more of an annoyance.

I can't shake the feeling that the show expects you to assume too much within the realm of fantasy and reality(I forget the literary term for this). Its like they expect you to believe that all of this stuff is just a mere coincidence far too often, and it tests that feeling a lot. Believable that Brian was a serial killer maybe. Then he just happens to run into the arsonist Lila and accidentally kills Miguel Prado's brother. The Trinity killings kind of make sense within context because there's been a small build up for that with Agent Lundy.

They've already used Dexter's brother as an angle, the femme fatale angle with Lila, the sidekick angle with Prado, and finally a legit serial killer with Trinity, so now its time to actually explore the darker angle of Dexter himself.

I am aware that we wouldn't have a show if Dexter didn't meet these people, but it still feels kinda cliche to me. It'll be interesting to see what he does with his son, since Dexter himself is struggling with his own code.

the finale was a shocker for sure. i anticipated deb to be the corpse, not rita, but it makes more sense this way. i'm interested to see if this turns dexter into a wildman. i want to know if trinity told rita about dexter's alternate life too.
