The Adventures of Tintin !
« on: October 23, 2011, 02:11:05 PM »
Anyone ells stoked on this !?  Steven Spielberg and  Peter Jackson doing it up . With Jamie Bell , Simon Pegg , Andy Serkis and Daniel Craig .

Growing up I was reading Tintin like crazy , and watching the animated movies .  This could be awsome or ruin your childhood

Super stoked on this one. I have all but 2 of the Tintin comic book series, some are close to 50 years old being owned by my parents and even my grandparents. The animated series are still shown once in a while, the series and comic books are like timeless classics.

Spielberg and the cast came to the Brussels premier yesterday. I thought that was a pretty cool thing to do considering Tintin is from Belgium.

my feelings too. I loved tin tin but the motion capture is going to kill it. everything in motion capture looks floaty and off and the faces look creepy and zombie like. did anyone see mars needs moms? neither did I but i saw several trailers and it was scarier than any zombie film. why not do it live action with decent effects or forget motion capture and stylise the animation like pixar or hell good old 2d animation. fancy technology does not a good movie make.

I'm no fan of any type of digital animation either, I'd rather see traditional cell animation (2D), but come on, it's Tintin, not even the animation could ruin it.

Saw it and loved it! Andy Serkis does a sick job of portraying Captain Haddock

Psyched for this, I grew up on Tintin. My Dad had all the comics and would pick up t-shirts from this market. Over the years he seriously must've had at least one from each book. I rocked hand me down Tintin shirts for the bulk of my youth - if only I was a fraction less filthy or the shirts weren't white in the first place I might still have one.

I sure hope they do Haddock's foul mouth justice.
