Fuck that, I'm holding my own money cup the same day. Contestants are still signing up, there will be 40s and weed, participants must be high on drugs and drunk. The only tricks allowed are tre flips, rocket flips, and serious attempts at back nose blunts where you mad dog the curb on roll-up, actually landing one will result in disqualification. Will be held in a realistic street environment; basketball court to be determined. Serious cash prizes like enough to get another 40.

at the last one mr. maloof announced that they'd be 'replenishing' the park every year. my impression was that they were just gonna restore all the obstacles to better condition, which is still a tight idea. not sure how exciting a contest it'll be though.

watched it on fuel and i gotta say its starting to look like with the street league bafoons out of the running the maloofs are actually putting on a more "core" contest, i mean provost, manny, and cory! i am soooo hyped that them youngsters could possibly walk away with some good money. real fun to watch, thankfully.

about half-way through the day, cory kennedy skated close by the edge in front of where we were sitting, and twenty or so kids swarmed the railing, reaching over for autographs, and the weight was so much on that one piece of platform that the floor broke through and kids starting sinking down into it like cars into a sinkhole. but the kids stayed there, screaming for autographs, still sinking into the earth. we had to physically pull some of them back until security showed up and roped it off. this is what it looked like when all the kids were off it, imagine it loaded with weight.

Fuel TV's programming is 90% crap. They broadcast less and less skating in favor of moto-X, reality shows, and other shit of that nature. No way in hell im ordering that shit.
The little chat room feature on the Maloof site has folks from Germany and Austria (who apparently have access to the live feed) and stuff bickering back and forth about the comp. Ehhhhh

the one on one thing was a horrible idea. if they're just gonna have the whole course open then let the guys do some runs or something. the og maloof formula worked better i think. they shouldve taken the top scores and put the last 4 guys together or something.
and about that fucking webcast that they had been advertising since months ago...wow. fucking blew it. blocking the entire US basically from viewing it. they would have had 10 times more people seeing the EXACT same commercials/ads had the webcast been viewable.
overall it was a sick thing to see the "non-contest" jocks out there, with the exception of Lutzka who also happened to win. if they had the webcast fixed and the finals in a better format i think it would have been as close to perfect as they could get.

Without question Lutzga skated better than busenitz in the finals. I have only seen the thrasher vid that just went up because I was blocked. Busenitz was barely hanging on. 160000 K for a day of skating is not bad at all, and thats not including bonuses and residuals damn.
