always a bummer when this happens. jack up some ramps or try to get the owners to sell you them for cheap. you won't regret that shit down the road

spend a zillion dollars building a crazy ass skatepark: check
charge ridiculous admission price to skate it for a short period: check
build it 20 miles away from a city full of skateboarders: check

I've never heard of a pay to skate indoor park lasting more than a few years.

third lair in minneapolis has been around for a long time, too. not sure exactly how long, but i'm thinking at least 6-7 years.
but that's only because the weather in the midwest makes some kind of indoor shit a necessity in the winter.
trying to open an indoor pay to play park in cali where there's 364.5 nice days a year is just foolish.

Indoor parks never last in northern CA. There is too short of a season where it is a necessity.

exactly, with all the free parks and skate spots in sac why would you bother driving out to rocklin and paying $20 to skate?

The Hangar is indoor, isn't it?  And free?
It's covered but one side of the building is totally open. It's supposed to be $2-3 to ride all day but you rarely have to. Usually when there's a new guy at the door, he'll make you pay but that's not often.
Like Daewon said: if skateboarding is a ten story building, Rodney is on eleventh floor.

Dear Epic Skatepark,
Need a tax write off? Donate all the ramps to the Hangar and make Beebs and Sactown homies even more psyched on the it! Hell it's on the Berrics: http://www.theberrics.com/dailyopspost.php?postid=1428
We'll let your son/ family skate for free! Please?

Big fucking surprise. The helmet rule would have been bad enough on its own, but the "11 bucks for a 2 hour session" idea was really a genius move.

For rainy days, the Hanger works for me...

some of the ramps from epic are getting sold to another family that's putting up a new park on sunrise/folsom blvd. that will also be indoors and will likely be about $10/ few hours. Expect to see/hear of it opening in the next few months then it's closure once spring comes.

Nobody gets it. I met with this guy through the hangar one day. He said, I quote," I just went to the local skatepark. And literally, not seem weird or anything, I saw dollar signs floating around."

At that point, I hung up the phone. Good luck to all! Call Cream City or the Tampa guys to see how it's really done!

Is Four Seasons still open up in Madison?

Indoor parks a about a shitty business venture as it gets. The few who make it are an anomaly.

Sir, there is never a season of any size that you NEED to skate indoors in northern California.

Don't take that shit for granted.

yeah except skatelab is only fun one night a week, every other night is overcrowded with little shits who bought their new skatelab shirt at walmart. Also, as far as indoor parks go the layout is pretty lame. That park in berlin from the gang of fourstar tour looks fun as hell.
