I would love it if we could go full on french revolution at some point; but sadly since the entire country is so divided it would def turn into a civil war if the federal government ceased to exist. It'd be nice if Canada would accept more immigrants from the USA in that event. I'd go in a second. Shit tbh I'd go right now if their requirements weren't so stringent... Weather sucks but their major cities are cool.

Because enough idiots fall for the "anti-establishment" card.  If I was 18 again, I'd probably be in love with this idiot too.  He reminds me a lot of Ron Paul and Andrew Yang, I fell for both.  I never gave a shit about Tulsi Gabbard, but you could lump her in there too.

Agreed, I guess I meant more of why did this topic pop back up after the novelty wore off

it came up within an instant of my posting a thoughtful Jacobin article in the Wagner Group Coup thread about the so-called opportunity for "progressive dissent" against the use/sale of cluster bombs in Ukraine. Hmmmm. thought provoking

Well-defined ambiguity, I'm already on somebody's list as a casualty

Also, I’m genuinely curious about what PSL means. Search engines were not very helpful.

What credentials does he have to talk about a virus? If it wasn’t for his family name, there is no fucking way he would have gotten a degree from Harvard.

Legacy admissions allow idiots like him to get degrees from prestigious universities and spout bullshit that gets taken seriously.

Next think you know, you're going to say that Bill Gates' role founding a software company and using his mom's connections with the board of IBM to make it successful doesn't qualify him to decide worldwide vaccination policy.

It’ll be “interesting” to see if the SC rules in favor of it after their ruling against Affirmative Action.   (And a heh to you)

Is there a relevant case? The Supreme Court ruling on Affirmative Action specifically left in place the "black box" policy by which colleges can basically accept or deny any person at all for any reason whatsoever and never have to state a reason why.

I figure it's a third rail they'll never touch because that's how half of them got into college in the first place, and it's certainly how 100% of their children or grandchildren will get into college.

A minority activist group started a lawsuit in the wake of the Affirmative Action decision.   Think it’ll take some time to reach SCOTUS

The fact that they didn't touch this part of the admissions issues makes me think that the court will simply refuse to hear the case, but we will see.

I was curious too so I looked it up.

"I had a very very strong voice until I was 42 years old,” RFK began. “In 1996 I had an injury that caused a neurological disorder called spasmodic dysphonia. And it make my voice like this – I cannot listen to my voice. When I go home I will not listen to this program"

Tell you what though...the more I hear about this guy the less I like 'em. No sir. Not a fan.

Yeah, I bet he’d have had an easier time getting even more progressive agenda getting passed.   I like Bernie, but guys/gals like him I think are best suited for the Senate and that shouldn’t be seen as lesser.

Testimony in congress should only be from experts of the field. Bill Gates runs different charities and bases his views on scientific evidence. RFK Jr. is an environmental lawyer who says that vaccines cause autism and that COVID is designed to not attack Chinese or Jewish people, without providing any information to back it up. Having said that, Bill Gates shouldn’t decide worldwide vaccination policy. That’s something that doctors and immunologists should decide.
