im here now. ? it was a fucking crazy day. ? all the trains and subways are down in tokyo and nobody can get home. ? some people live 2 hours away from work by train and they are stuck. i was just about to leave my house to get on the train. ? its gonna rain like crazy, i can see the clouds moving in. ? and the tsunamis are attacking all the coastal areas. ? yokohama got it pretty bad. phones dont work, the west part of tokyo suburbs have no water or gas or electricity. ? for me, i was in my house getting ready to go to work and first it was just a small quake, that happens at least once a week and i thought nothing of it. ? within 10 seconds i was on the ground and couldnt get up to my feet. ? eventually i got outside, shoes in hand and saw the whole neighborhood doing the same thing. ? there really is no safe place. ? telephone poles and wires are everywhere. ? my apartment moved like it was paper. aftershocks are still happening. ? now the news is saying a bigger quake is coming. ?

good that youre safe, sucks that youre stranded.  soooo many people are stranded.  even people at my station, they cant go home.

yeah, theres just a few more that havent contacted anybody yet but im sure they are ok.

sooo are we in the clear now?  i think the tsunamis are staying away from kanto.  and i hear there was gonna be another big one, but i think thats over with now.

ive been looking at the jma website since it happened... the aftershocks have steadily decreased... but there was another quake off ibaraki 5minutes ago...

http://www.jma.go.jp/en/quake/

if you scroll back through the list to about 14:48 and then click through it till now you can get a picture of how big the quake was and how spread out it was...

yeah everyone is stranded it sucks... i guess the only good thing is that hotels and bars are going to make a killing tonight... i wish my work had a tv and my phone's battery didn't die
