flannel, cords, buying skate shoes at foot locker, sean malto, being from norcal, combo tricks, hideous smith grind variations, cody mac, not retiring, being artsy etc.
-
shut up.
-
shut up.
god every topic you post in is a mafuckin boob apresh
Look at those things go!
-
every single video that comes out will be in slow motion with a slow ass song and the same text as Fully Flared, essentially every little kid with no vision at all will be slobberin on ty's dick.
It will be cool to skate nothing but flat ground and cement barriers
the Osiris D3 will make a comeback.
-
under armor for skateboarding
-
all skate videos will come with 3D glasses....everything 3D! yes! haha
-
backlips on curbs.
-
not wearing tight pants
-
flannel, cords, buying skate shoes at foot locker, sean malto, being from norcal, combo tricks, hideous smith grind variations, cody mac, not retiring, being artsy etc.
all of the above
-
all you have to do is look at Andrew Reynolds and Eric Koston. Whatever they are doing currently will be a trend in a few months...its almost a guarantee.
-
All these things are trendy now. I think skating the moon is going to be what's hot in 2010.
-
whats been trendy over the years as far as looks is just a renewal of old styles usually from 10-20 years ago. something thats beginning to come back is bringing back classic cup-sole shoes that everyone liked (the boss, k-1, staple, emerica mj, manchester i think, es arcane, dc biltmore). these are shoes that probably should have never been stopped being produced, so i'm all for this movement.
as far as skateboarding goes, hopefully there are fewer grind-grind combos and more fast and gnarly skateboarders like busenitz, andrew allen, alex olsen etc... i also wouldn't mind seeing a resurgence of good vert skating. by good i mean big steezy airs and smooth maneuvering on a ramp that looks good. i dislike watching jiggy switch flip grabs on some so-cal vert ramp at the YMCA.
lastly, above all that i have mentioned, the alien workshop video will decide what's trendy for the next 3 to 5 years if there's anything unique in it, which there most certainly will be.
-
hopefully skateboarding isnt even cool

1992 style comeback: Baggy Khakis, airwalks, 35 mm wheels, double flips, un-planned lines, Hi 8. Every kid will be looking like Jovontae in Love Child.....Just Kidding, Imagine how sick that would be though. Seriously though in 2 years not much will change. Everyone will be rocking a pair of converses I think.

I think recycled composite material based products will be standard in most companies' lines.
There will probably be a solid base of green-minded skaters/consumers who'll support this.
I wouldn't be surprised to see more DIY small companies start up, kids making there own stuff.
Creativity is going to be more popular than ever, but conversely so to will mindless crap,
like crazy signature prescription pro internet reading glasses at Rite Aid for ten dollars, ha.
Altering your pants will be compulsory, as will making little hats and stuff, not having a job and eating old food out of a dumpster. Uber-wealth/prestige will be more more attractive than ever at the same time.
Synthetic Chinchilla lined allover black on black print 150 dollar hoodies with built in text messaging capabilities, watch for those.
You-tubed skate videos will be delivered through infrared sensors embedded into the neck fat of kids.
Ha ha, who knows, maybe everything will be pretty much the same, just with new iphones that shoot video and project holograms.
Wait, holograms, yeah, that's what will be trendy in the 2010's....allover hologram hoodies...oh man, start saving your money kids!
Oh, and bringing your house cat to the session in a little cat carrier, kind of like how pros bring their little dogs, but it'll bring a whole new energy to the session. After you kill the rail, and want to render it unskateable, smear some cat shit on that thing.
These are probably out already, but mesh hats made out of metal screen, you'll totally have to send them through the x-ray machine at the airport...reference the DC Mike C. pro shoes, Navy w/gold metal mesh....all gold metal mesh hats.....those will be under 9/10 kids' trees come X-mas 2012.

As more skateboarders are adopting the "smart casual" look with Cords, chinoes and cardigans, we should see skateboarders looking like this in a few years:
Along with this trend, we will see more dress-shoe inspired shoes.
-
shoelace headbands, neon replaces tie dye, bicycles replace motorcycles, every pro model is a colorful hightop, riding through puddles after a line, no more slow mo, spongebob gets 5 pro models before being replaced by scooby doo, rollerblade cameos in skate vids, and slap magazine starts making magazines again but no skating just the best quotes from the forum! O and Iraq is the new barcelona

man that shit is the worst.
all the fags at the park rock 'em, fucking purple, blue not like indigo but straight blue, fucking green, red, even yellow. all tight as fuck. i've seen 'em all, and laugh more at each one.
-
I've owned a pair of blue and maroon cords, don't know if that's considered weird. I don't see why blue and gray cords aren't as popular as tan and brown. Navy is the best colored chino in my opinion.
goddammit im trendy.
-
FuBu will have a skate team
-
people will have lost interest in BATB and berra will turn the berrics into a big hide and seek/laser tag fortress and they have tournaments of hide and seek and instead of bangin's they will have "LASER TAGGED"
-
Seeing as more and more Preps and bros are starting to skate, the industry will be run by these exact people and Fall Out Boy will replace Sonic Youth as the popular skate video soundtrack band. Fall Out Boy's infinity on High album will also replace the Village Green as the most overused in skate videos. Soon, the next Alien video, "Inertia" will be set to mostly Fall Out Boy and Linkin Park.
you're trying too hard to be funny

More people will smoke weed, not for the love of it?
I didn't know there was an underground weed scene, that's like saying "I drink beer, but all the posers are just jumping the band wagon"
-
well, there's alchoholics, then there's the kids at the high school party who walk around with the same beer they opened two hours previously.

I don't know why I worded it weirdly like that. I probably meant, "Weed will continue to increase in popularity."

Those belts were hot shit from like 91 to 94, extra long so it hung down like my cock. They totally sucked though, the braids would always get all stretched out where you buckled it. I remember all the asian kids wearing them around the same time.
