Just curious, would a 7.75 twin tail shape pique any interest here? We’re definitely considering it but we figure to ask, we don’t want excess inventory
[close]

Yes

Thank you for the feedback, seems like there is generally some interest in this and we'd love to contribute if theres a need. Hopefully we can have them ready to go ASAP, but COVID will make it hard to predict.

Thank you all again!

In the Club (kind of). Got a 7.8" Picture Show and some boardy cakes on super sale. Tempted as I am to run my venture lows I find my board flips more easily with Indy or Ace.

Ok

It’s not psstix but the regular China wood shape. Although psstix and this has the exact same dimensions. The China wood feels more cramped due to how much steeper the kicks are. The flatter deck feels slightly more longer even tho it’s exactly measures the same.
Honestly this is my first time riding the new wood since they moved woodshops and I like how it feels. Just wish it was mellower.

Yeah the current wood is decent. I am really enjoying the 7.75 shape, although as you mentioned, steeper than I would ordinarily prefer.

Going to do the 139s. I know we've talked about iti before, but back in the Stage VII days 136 was the skinniest truck Indy made so you'd see pics of Lavar McBride and Drake Jones running them on 7.5"-7.75"s. I'll measure the WB tonight. I am going to guess 14.25" but I would love to be wrong and have it be a 14".

@nosneb those look amazing.

Edit @ok the WB on the picture show is 14". Pleasantly surprised.

Crail still has the Howard deck. I haven’t seen any shops that still have them.

https://crailstore.com/products/w41-d2-girl-howard-pictograph-deck

6.3 on the tail seems short.

I’ve seen a lot of different nose and tail lengths  on a 31”length 14”wb.

Is it a steepness thing?

Yes the psstix has much flatter is kicks and the deck feels longer and it’s the same exact measurements.
My doa is SHORTER in dim but doesn’t feel short due to how flat it is. Doa has a 6 in tail lol

Before I cut it. I peel the grip up so that it’s not covering the rails. And I just cut along the color ply. Usually will offset the griptape so that the corner isn’t gripped but lately I’ve been just doing solid no designs. Also after cutting I take a screw driver and scrape off the edge of the deck. No sanding down at all.

I was watching Ishod’s Instagram story showing off his quiver the other night. He had a 7.75 in the mix and triggered a Manchuria candidate moment in my head. I felt compelled to set up a small popsicle. There are some tricks I just can’t do anymore that I would like to do. Maybe a smaller board to supplement my regular board will help with that, or maybe I’ll hate it.

Real 7.75x31.25 14in wheelbase
Thunder 146
52mm F4 Classics because I couldn’t find any 50’s or 51’s
Bones Big Balls

Tiagos that aren’t relevant to the board, but then again, maybe they are. I haven’t had a setup this small in almost 20 years

You know, I complained about DLX shapes somewhere else on here, but I like these dimensions quite a bit.  What made you go with Thunders over Venture 5.0 lows?

@tom setup, and shoes, very hot. Re: smaller setups, I’ve found I can do way more of the tricks I used to be able to do, with less of a struggle, on a 7.75 (as opposed to me trying to skate an 8.25 or whatever).

@reed cast thunders are dope. I haven’t had 145s in almost 20 years, but I had a few of the best sessions of my life on them. I can’t remember if they were thunder lows or not. Anyways, imo thunders allow a slightly larger wheel than venture lo’s, and I think tom already skates thunders

I made a typo as they are 145’s and not 146’s, but yeah, I’m a Thunder guy. I wanted to have something that was just a smaller sized version of my actual setup. Thunders are also lighter. There are some flip tricks I haven’t done in almost a decade or more. A smaller lighter board seems like the right thing to help with that

Bought this 7.75 due to nostalgia. It's a nice stiff board with medium concave. The first day skating it I was really stoked on it. Then I cracked it badly on a back lip, which is rare for me.
