So recently I fucked my ankle really bad and it hasn't fully healed in over 4 or 5 months. I've tried out some different mid and high top shoes for better ankle support but I can't say I've found one I've really liked yet. I tried the dylan mid tops, the nike blazer hi's, and vans skate highs.
Any suggestions on other options?
Thanks

Huf Huppers!

SB Dunk Mids are my personal favorite. add an extra insole and tie the laces to the top and your feet are totally secure and protected. i jump down stuff in these kicks all the time and foot/back pain has never a problem for me.

never tried huf shoes, how is the board feel?
-
I had Circa Tre highs, black nubuck which lasts a long time and protects better than suede, plenty of support, vulc sole, just sick shoes. They call them highs but they're more like a solid mid-top.
In my opinion you can never go wrong with half-cabs either.

I liked my Hsu's.

I liked my Hsu's.
I never really liked the "look" of the hsu's too much. Same with the circa's, they both look kinda bulky.
not to say they aren't good shoes, I just never skated well with heavier shoes aka most adidas skate shoes

Westgates are nice, Carroll Selects, or the 'eS Manwolf shoe is you can find 'em.
-
Carroll Selects are awesome shoes, same with Half Cabs
-
fo real, carroll select thrasher edition, what a great shoe.
-
I got the brown suede Cons CTS mids and I really like them. Lace them up to the top and you're gold. I also tossed in some
Dr Scholls Gel Work Inserts.
-
My Hsu 1s were one of my favorite shoes ever. I don't really like the look the Hsu 2s though.
-
I forgot Telfords, good cupsole.
-
half cab and dunk mids are my favorite mids

anyone try the arto mid by gravis? The one with the ollie pad on the side reminiscent of vision footwear.
But either way, I think i'll try the huf shoes next, they seem to be least bulky out of all the shoes I've seen

CTS mids
and the starplayer mids.
the newest version of the campus mid in black is actually reallllly good.

is the campus mid bulky like the low tops though? I never did like that adidas skate shoes have those weird padding around the corner. I also can't feel my board in their shoes...

Pro series Half-Cab are sick. They added a good insole so it's the first time I didn't have to use Dr Scholls in Vans in many years, and the supertuff suede held up well. To boot, the matte black just looks great.
After the 90's I think Circa's got better and have always broken in well for me. The ones I had that did look kinda bulky didn't feel bulky, especially the vulcs.

really nice shoe, but they dont feel like a mid, more like a less scooped lowtop. still no complaints

ima break it down like this
THE BEST MID-TOP SKATE SHOES
Vulc: Vans Half-Cab (Pro)
Cupsole: Nike SB Dunk Mid (the newer, redesigned ones)
Somewhere Inbetween: Nike SB Blazer Hi
I've skated multiple pairs of each & I know my mid-tops, any of these will get the job done. I see alot of Carroll Select love on here but ive had two pairs that really sucked ass. I bought the 2nd pair hoping that the first pair were just defect.... Naw son them shits blew out on me just the same, not to mention they gave my first & only heel bruise. lakai only gets my T-shirt money from here on out im sorry Mike.

I need those on my feet right now. I love black and white blazers. I had these last year and they were pretty comfortable.

I had those blue halfcabs too, soooooo good. I want another pair!

I actually have a pair of hi top blazers. Haven't got much skating in them because of my ankle, and on top of that, my classes are fucking hard this quarter. at the moment, the boardfeel is kind 'eh.' Wondering if these break in well or not
-
Half Cabs tried and true. I like both the classics and the pros.

they get REALLY flexible after awhile dont worry. if you lace them up to the top its almost like the shoe just becomes a part of your foot
-
i'm dying to get the nike SB omar vulcs - anyone skate em yet?
