Girl/Chocolate Skateboards

Who here buys 'em regardless of the China wood situation?

Seems like, despite all of the belly-aching, people still rock 'em anyway.

Let's talk about this.

They always feel weird after a few sessions to me so I don't ride them. This was years ago so it's not an issue for me.

I would never purchase a Girl board, although, I like their image and team.

The team and the graphics are the biggest selling point and that's why girl/chocolate are still around.I myself am not gonna buy a board of theirs till i know the boards are of quality again.

the last girl deck i had was a carroll in like 2002, 2003? was that pre- or post-chinese wood? it was fine, but i have my usual companies shit that i skate and you know, like some dood once said, if it ain't broke don't break it. i would like to note for the record that i had gino iannucci's first board on chocolate.

i gave in and bought a skate mental because i liked the graphic and it was a little longer than most boards. it was amazing the first couple sessions, but it lost it snaps really fast.

I feel the same about them as I do Enjoi- Love the team, hate the decks.
It’s a shame, because I had a couple of their boards when the first started and they were sick, and then I started getting the ones that turned to mush in three days and snapped on flat ground ollies.
I wish it were different, because I’d love to support them.

Add art direction, minus Sam S.

All my encounters with him he's come off like a cokehead deuche. Just sayin'.

I'm riding my first Chocolate board ever at the moment- a Scott Johnson.

It came with a stamp on the top that said "made in usa"...but I don't really care about that nationalist bullshit.

Been over a month now and it's still as snappy as the day I bought it.

Ok,

You must be new to the Skateboard game.  This is real industry talk.  "It's all about who you know".  And that's real.

the stevie bar series was like my 5th board ever. keeping in mind my first two boards lasted damn near a year a piece. i later had the york bar series, both were so good, probably sticking out in my mind as two of the better boards i have ever had.

My last set up is a Sheffey OG series around 2000, and it is still the same shape till today.

Weeks ago I went to Sydney, I think what the hell and set up a Chocolate Anderson there, didnt think too much about the china wood issue.

And after a few sessions its nose just chipped, it never happened to my Sheffey deck, so I think it is really different.
i love opening skate talk and see mbl88 mbl88 mbl88... on every thread's last post

i bought a pappalardo chocolate, and i love that thing so much.  something about chocolate boards, that the tail is nice and snappy..........like i don't have to put as much effort to pop my tricks, the tail pops nice and fast, which i absolutley love.  definatly getting another, quality wise?  feels the same as my zoo york, if not better after 2 weeks.
