Okay all hate aside. It's a nice quality hd camera for sure. But hd slo mo dolly shots like that belong in some kind of actual film.  I could have watched a short film that has nothing to do with skateboarding and it would have had the same effect as watching that video.  Cool if it's just some kind of filming experimentation if you are into film and trying to make it in a non-skateboarding film industry.  But don't post it on slap unless you love the hate that comes along with these types of videos.

I have to say, the old film type shots and the altered color tones doesn't necessarily make it any "better" than the slo-mo HD dolly shots from a cinematic perspective. Just different. But from a skateboarding perspective, that video was much more enjoyable, for sure

Sorry, yes, that's what I was trying to say. You can have a great deal of cinematic quailities in a skate video and still make it feel like a skate video. The excess of hd slo-mo dolly shots feels like an advertisement and isn't as fun to watch.

Debacle and Get busy living were the only good HD videos so far... most HD clips or videos are always filled with gayness and other bullshit... why don't they just use this technology and make normal skatevideos without gay 'epicness' and lifestyle shit

I quite enjoy the odd bit of slow mo but there is getting to be too much, slowmo, zoom in on a small ollie type footage which really isn't that tricky to film or at all creative. This clip may have the right idea though

because skate videos have always been filled with lifestyle shots and gayness like filming the sky then the skater then the floor

Don't forget anything done by French Fred or Hold tight Henry, they both make sick HD vids. When it's done right it works, when there is loads of slow mo and 'cinematic' style shots it doesn't work unless there is a strong theme. This videos theme was 'dudes at a skatepark' hense the hate.

technically, its any footage that the camera is moving in. but that's not what they really mean.

Not quite, the term dolly shot came to be because cameras would be placed on a dolly and then moved with use of the dolly, weather it be a dolly on a track or with out. Camera came be moved in many other ways
