No it's an old Van's model and it doesn't say his name on it. It's not like he designed the shoe. What a stupid question

It’s called the MC. it’s his old pro shoe.

I loved this photo as a kid. Had it in Vans poster form on my wall.

I loved this photo as a kid, cropped perspective and all. Had the poster on my wall.

that rail is at a GIGANTIC house in the Pac Heights neighborhood of SF

I think if Lakai can release the Es Koston Ones and the Airwalk Hawk Prototypes then they can release the Carroll Vans Abomination, and I also would buy a pair.

Got me before I edited my post! I recalled the photo being cropped, but not as cropped as that version of the photo I first posted. Found the Vans poster version, and it definitely takes away the full perspective. Didn't matter much when I was 12!

And yeah, I know the area. You have to be a literal billionaire to live on that street. No joke. I believe they refer to that street as Billionaire's Row, but that might be a different Pac Heights street.
Close to those opposing curve ledges people were skating for a while 10+ years ago, which I always thought was crazy. Mansion spot skating.
-
Damn, Carroll and Rickk are far too elusive these days. How dope would a shared part for a Lakai promo be? Too dope maybe. Ahhh, I understand now.

SF, Carroll, and Yelland.* Doesn't get much better than that.
*At least I think it's Yelland

Hell yeah that poster was sick. I could never wear half cabs as my feet were too wide but always admired them from afar.
-
The only vans that is worth it.
-
- You can’t copyright a shoe design
- He left right immediately after they released it, so Vans kinda deserves to sell a few more if they can
- fun fact: Original designer is named Telford, hence the Lakai shoe
My guess is they got his blessing to do it bc he’s thanked in IG posts
-
I know for a fact that he gets a small royalty on the re-releases of that shoe.
-
Idealistically, I hope they did. Realistically they didn't. Carroll deserves any check he ever gets through this industry.

Or Kanights or Gabe......Either way all rad.

i remember his wife showed a stove they were considering while building a house, shit had like 15 burners
-
Now that this is allowed, we know that an MJ reisso is coming. Its about time we get Andrew Reynolds 1 and 2 reissue

This is fucking beautiful
-
Was taking for granted he was wearing his shoes in that photo, then I remembered it’s a classic half cab shot
-
I would get them without that stupid Bos-thing on the sole. Writing shit on the sole ruins every shoe to me.
Anyhow, I fondly remember when he left Vans my outlet was flooded with them at what’s now 30 euros a pop.
-
aside from the writing they're cool actually
i like the lowkey lacing option
-
That last pair looks insanely uncomfortable. the toebox gives me cramps just looking at it.
-
I’d buy the Carroll Vans shoe even if it came with a flare on the side…most of us would.
-
If he did the exact same design on Lakai no one would touch them with a ten foot pole….
-
Arrrrggggghhhh they bring back one of the best shoes ever and ruin it.
How does anyone over 10 wear a sneaker with print on the sidewalls?

Its bizarre to me the lengths skate shoe companies will go to develop new molds and designs, throw all this wild nonsense at the wall, then completely ignore a golden opportunity to make some significant coin on a coveted reissue they KNOW skaters will buy.
The royalities (if thats the issue) really cant be that significant and I dont think there are many pros in 2022 that would be too demanding in regards to negotiations.

Or at least just give us a little taste like when the Agah was re-released a couple years ago briefly
-
I had the white leather ones and loved them. Will not be purchasing the reissue
