I used to live by the theory that if I find something I like, chances are I might not get it again, so once I am set on whatever it is, I buy all of them I can find and fund within reason.
To be fair, it didn't help that I had wholesale access to distributors for a while when working as the skate shop guy, but well over half of what I have was still bought directly from other shops when I was on the road for a long time in another role.
This has been good for some things, like Classic Full wheels, but sometimes not so good for other things, where I change up a board size, or similar.
At least nothing goes to waste, so it is all recycled if not used - given to others or sold / traded with people I know, but nowdays I am trying to only skate things I know I can get more of, or that are very standard lines, rather than getting that one board shape that might not be around long, or wheel shape, or shoe or whatever.
I could probably do well over twenty complete board setups, as well as complete clothing outfits from head to toe and more all with identical things, even down to the same colours, or at the very least, the same basic things, so for that I am happy and never need to change.
It is totally too much, but that is where I am and I don't really buy anything for myself any more either, so I can work through what I have got.
