Feel like the rise of the chino in popularity (again) is the death knell of the tight jeans look. Never been a look that I've been able to understand, especially from the angle of functionality, and there are WAY too many chunky wannabe kids (and adults for that matter) that look like absolute hell with their tight-ass jeans & muffin-top combo. Big mess. Next on the list of has-been trends that never should have been in the first place: vulcs.
-
I don't understand why people dont skate in chinos.
Jeans just don't function properly at all.
-
please explain the hatred for tight and slim jeans.

chinos >>>> jeans

agreed.
Chino's have been my standard for skating for the better part of the decade. Never jumped on the skinny jeans wagon. Target Merona ultimate classic 33x32 chinos were my default. Unfortunately, they just changed the material and the fit.

levis super skinny chino's are awesome. they really arent super skinny but more of a slim fit and are awesome
-
I just bought some matix pants for 20 bucks, because my jeans had ripped. I must say, as much as i hate most people that skate in them, these are the most comfortable pants I've ever skated in.
-
I always wear chinos, that and cords.
-
Most of the really skinny jeans are soft and stretchy so I would imagine them to be pretty comfortable for skating. But in a different way than chinos.
I can't handle the tights look, but my pants legs have been slowly getting slimmer in the last couple of years.
In praise of chinos, these are the most comfortable and awesome pants I own:

Dunderdon P13. They look pretty slim in the picture but it's a fairly basic casual workwear cut, just a little slimmer than Dickies. The material is similar as well, cotton/poly blend, but softer.

not when you have fat fucking thighs !!!
-
I prefer chinos when the weather is really hot, it's all about jeans at any other time though. I need that slim cut as well because wide high waist dickies are gross.

please explain the hatred for tight and slim jeans.
No hatred for tight and slim jeans, per se, but MUCH hatred for the TREND of tight and slim jeans. Reason being, I live in America, where basically everybody and their grandmother is overweight. So, tight clothes get trendy and fat folks try to squeeze into tight clothes. Looks like hell. Also, those Dunderons looks awesome, but they're just a bit too pricey for me. Someday when I've hit it big, I'll be looking them up.

Chinos will forever be the OG in skate fashion
Classic and timeless.
-
black jeans, please.
stainproof, and you can wear them forever without washing them.
-
Tried on once, didn't felt and fit right. Still sticking to my regular fit 501's.
Would love a good pair of chinos thou.
-
I take everything I said back. The board hit me in the nuts for the first time ever today, because i was wearing these shits.

This right here is the truth.

Ralph Lauren Five Pocket chino's are pretty good, H&M chinos in a close second.
-
banana republic chinos are usually on point. I regret cutting the pair I found at a thrift store into shorts this past summer.
-
i like the emerica hsu chinos, and the altamont davis slim
-
Been skating the Krew K-slim twill pants lately. Got 3 pairs for $100 instead of $130 each at a warehouse sale.
For me they fit perfectly, not too tight, not too baggy and perfect around the waste plus twill is a lot cooler and lighter than denim.
